Do not buy. These green Amazon rechargeables, for some reason, are not to spec size. They're too big. It's a gamble if they fit in tight places

Sometimes they're tight. But there's a 10% coupon on top of that. I ordered

It appears they're currently selling the version that's made in China, which I haven't tested. However, I have tested the made in Malaysia version and those were excellent. Every cell tested at least 5-10% over their rated capacity. Self-discharge was also extremely low, maintaining a roughly 80% charge for two years. Oddly, the Malaysian AAs weren't as impressive but still a good value. I haven't tested any recent Chinese Amazon Basics batteries but the ones I have from 2012 held up reasonably well.

Yeah these aren't the same cells. Amazon basics rechargeables should be avoided at all cost; they consistently underperform their ratings and are shit China cells.

I am tired of cleaning up my remote controls after alkalines leak.So even if not that great - these are useful to me. If I get 4 uses out of them, then the price is good!

I lack testing equipment. Are the IKEA ladda still a great buy or is there something else that's surpassed it in the good quality and low cost convo?

These days, Amazon regularly alternates between ones made in China and ones made in Malaysia (which I have tested). Also, just because a battery is made in China does not mean it is garbage. Arguably the best NiMH batteries I've used were the old Rayovac Hybrid/Platinums, which were made in China.

I haven't personally tested them but the ones made in Japan are generally well regarded. There are also some Watson CX/MX (from B&H Photo) that may be Eneloop cousins.

Which exact Amazon Basics batteries have you used (what capacity and where were they manufactured)? Thus far, I've had reasonably good experiences with standard capacity (2000mAh/800mAh) Amazon Basics NiMH.

EBL is terrible on a whole different level. Many of their batteries have outright fraudulent ratings. Their 2500mAh AAs are actually closer to 1850. All the 2000mAh Amazon Basics I tested exceeded that. Some even exceeded their rated capacity (with the best one averaging over 2050mAh).

these batteries definitely holds its charge at the rated capacity (yes i test all new batteries with my charger that can test its capacity charge, and most are slightly ABOVE its stated rating) but my question is, how long can they retain most of its capacity over time. but if u often have to replace batteries or dont mind replacing it more often than other expensive ones that cost 3-6 times more then these should do the job adequately and it doenst matter that much
