Nope. QD OLEDs (Samsung) are different from OLED (LG) panels. OLEDs have a white sub pixel layer where as QD OLEDs don't. QD OLEDs typically have better panel uniformity from my experience. LG OLEDs have an advantage when it comes to size because they can produce panel sizes up to 97" where as QD OLEDs are currently capped at 77". Lastly color brightness and vibrancy is much better on QD OLED as well.
It depends on use case. If you absolutely need Dolby Vision then I'd recommend you go with LG or Sony. The equivalent Sony QD OLED is way more expensive. The only LG OLED than can compete with QD OLED is the G series that's equipped with MLA Technology.

I'd go with the QD OLED unless you absolutely hate Samsung or you need Dolby Vision. Stay away from the S90C 83" because it doesn't use a QD OLED panel.
IMO... the 5 yr Costco Warranty is better than the 2 yr BB warranty. The 5 yr Costco warranty coverage is as follows: Yr 1 - Manufacturer, Yr 2 - Costco, Yrs 3-5 - Allstate. My 65" C1 (purchased @ Costco) developed burn-in during year 2 of the warranty, and I received a full refund through Costco Concierge. That's as good as the BB 2 yr warranty that covers burn-in, and then there's 3 more years of coverage through Allstate/Costco (though that 3 yrs does not cover burn-in).

I bought the S90C 77" to replace my S95C 65". The One Connect Box is horrible. I'm on my second replacement. My 3090 gaming PC will occasionally drop the audio and sometimes it'll completely drop the signal. Once I receive my S90C 77", I'm moving my S95C 65" to my bedroom. Everything else works flawlessly with my S95C 65" except my gaming PC. I played through Spider-Man 2's campaign on my PS5, and it didn't drop once.

Both panels support 4K144. The main difference is that the S95C has a higher peak brightness; it comes with the One Connect Box, and when mounted it looks flush due to the Tnfinity One design. Lastly the S90C 77" panel is the same panel as the S95C 77" panel.
Hmm, it's hard to justify paying $1000 more for the S95C at this point then. At this price it's tempting just to buy and upgrade in 2-3 years to the next best thing. The G4 and S95D aren't a huge step up from their previous 2023 models.

Huh if something is faded, it should be in dark and bright scenes!
Were the colors brighter with Samsung, over all yes.
Was it natural/accurate looking, overall no.
Of course quality of the content plays a big role here.

When using good DV content and there is plenty!
That technology can't overcome that, no-contest DV shines in my experience!

I agree with the comment that the colors are more realistic on LG. They look overdone/oversaturated in the Samsung. But For those who like that, get the Samsung, is my opinion.

I wholeheartedly agree when you're comparing 2023 models. I personally think that's why Samsung completely separated the S90D and S95D. The differences between the S90C and S95C are minimal so it didn't make sense for most people to pay more money.

The biggest difference with the G4 is that the 83" variant finally has MLA Technology. I wanted that panel, but I hardly see it dropping below $3000. I recently saw the G4 83" for $3699 through BH Photo Video, but it lacks MLA and the colors were muted in Game Mode. I believe that was an all time low as well. I eventually want to get an 83" OLED so I'll be on the lookout for one. I'm looking forward to not having blackouts when I game on my PC. PS5, XSX, and my Denon Receiver are just fine. It's those inconsistent blackouts with the S95C that make it hard to recommend.

How many years have you folks kept your old TV's before upgrading to this one? And what do you do with your old TV's?

I upgraded to the S89C from a 2016 65" KS8000.

2 year extra warranty from Samsung is $199. Also the 77" seems to be out of stock. At least I can't add it to my cart right now

Costco seems like a good deal
Are you referring to the Samsung Care+? That gives you just 1 more year of warranty, ie it extends the normal 1 year warranty to 2 years. If you buy the TV today instead of the warranty expiring on 2025 it will expire on 2026. They make it sound as if it would give you 3 years in total but is just 2. Not worth $200 in my opinion

I have a very bright room with lots of sun and reflections from windows. Is this good for my room or a Hisense 85U8K. Price is similar for the two TVs.

Also how does Dolby Vision content play on this tv. Does it automatically convert to HDR/HDR+? Thanks!

Looks like a good deal. I get confused so is this the one with 1 connect box?
Wonder what changes are rumored to be in the D version? Deciding since I don't particularly need another tv but could be persuaded at this price 😀

No one connect box unfortunately. But way worth it. This thing is awesome

I just ordered directly from Samsung for $1620 + tax. It's listed for $2000 with free TV mounting service. I received $200 off due to EPP and an additional 10% discount after asking customer service via chat, and they provided a coupon to apply.

I am still debating whether I want this Samsung or not. The reason being, I am more towards Sony. Currently, I have two other Sony TVs, and a similar Sony TV is currently being sold for $2500-3000.
🤔 For me this a dead stock kinda deal even If I wait for long I doubt Sony will ever clear out below $2k for A80L

This going to sound stupid, but does the Costco "Delivery and Set-Up" include mounting to the wall? I remember somebody saying it did but when I checked the fine print it looks like it only covers connecting it to the supplied base and handing me the remote.?
