Nothing will convince you to stop your penny pinching ways like a few nights sleeping on a flat mattress on top of the cold hard ground.
Yep, self-inflating pads are a thing. You open the valve and wait, then fully inflate with a few final blows.
Generally speaking, those are heavier and larger though.
I have an exped that self inflates but lets be honest. Its faster to use forced air.

I wouldn't take this below ~65 degrees at night. It's R1.6, which means only useful for hot climates. No, your warmer sleeping bag won't keep you warm enough below your body. All the insulation is squished underneath you and therefore ineffective.
Recently learned that the air only are mostly useless for cold like you mentioned. Best/cheapest option is a foldable foam pad with reflective surface. The rollable yoga mat type doesn't provide much benefit either.
this is a crazy good deal for an ultralight sleeping pad. I watched a bunch of reviews on YouTube and this was the best one I found that includes a long term review and goes over all of the details. hope it helps those who are on the fence.
Thanks OP, I got one just last week at ~$13 after taxes ... Thanks to WM+ I'm just rebuying and returning the other.
I haven't tried it out yet but did check out the reviews.
The R value is a joke on this. Most Chinese generic inflatables unrated pads are about the same, so marketing these as "insulated" kinda sus. Most likely the reason for the clearanced status.
FYI mine was of course brand new and all, however just old stock with a manufacturing date from early 2022.
Just to note, it doesn't seem to be self inflating (unless I missed it in the description). It states that it inflates by mouth.

I have slept on many of these types of inflating sleep pads for camping. They are ok if you care about carrying size and weight. For under $10 is a steal.
But the most comfortable inflating pads are the 4 inch pads with gel foam. They are heavy. But they are so nice to sleep on.

I already have two versions of the Thermarest Neoair Xlite and Klymit Static V2 but this was too good of a deal to pass up for a backup!

Some of the reviews I read on mentioned using it in their hammock given its tapered tubing design.
