no joke, i have been using the front load washer for a good 20 years and never had i know leaking is a concern

I ended up doing something similar a couple years ago and the dryers ended up out of warranty with a minor issue. Plus when youre doing constructions there's generally a lot of dust and debris that could make its way in the machines, especially if you unbox them (which you will want to do to inspect)
I'm about to utilize the Costco warranty on mine, any moderately sized load and it makes a rumbly noise.
2) Recently bought a Whirlpool that has a removable agitator. Agitator is great for really dirty stuff, then remove it for large, super delicate, or really anything else.
1) Bought a Samsung range and dishwasher directly from Samsung during their black friday sale. Basically got the range for about 25% off the normal Lowes/HD price and the dishwasher for free (long story!). It was a deal that I couldn't pass up. I postponed delivery for a while, but eventually they had to be delivered and sat in a construction zone for around 2 months. Luckily, no damage. The other issue is that you're eating into any return window and warranty while they sit around.
2) Bought my new washer, dryer, and fridge direct from Whirlpool. In this case, they were really good about postponing delivery and got them JIT for installation.

What is also nice about the LG washers is the door has a light stop when closing it. Keeps it open about 3/4 inch. Perfect to let it dry out after each load. After 1.5 years zero smells or mildew.
I read the Yale Appliance blog. Here is their most reliable washers for 2024 blog post.

After buying lg front loaders this year. The top one with auto detergent etc
