I got this last Nov for around the same price from the same Phillips website, and we LOVE this thing. We have probably run about 13 lbs of beans through it, zero problems, easy to use, easy/fast to clean, and all of the drinks are great. I can do better foam and better shots manually, but that is in the realm of diminishing returns... and the convenience makes all the difference between one or two drinks a day vs. one or two a week (if that). I went for this one because of 4 user profiles (we LOVE this feature, to be able to have everyone in the house have their own dialed in drink settings easy to access), where lesser models only have 2 I think. IIRC this was the only model that had the extra shot feature... where it will actually grind, charge, and extract one shot, and then it will empty the used puck, grind again, charge, and extract the second shot all automatically. I have extra shot on all of my drinks... that one feature alone is now a deal breaker... if I ever get another machine, it MUST do the second shot like this (vs. more grounds and a single extraction).

This wasn't cheap, but compared to superautos available say 5-10 years ago (or less) it is way cheaper, and less complicated / easier to clean & fix, and it does everything all in one go. The drinks might be slightly less good, but our fam is more than happy with this thing.
I have this machine. It's great and very convenient. Start up time is about a minute or so. You just pick the drink you want, load in the milk jug (if applicable), start it, and you get coffee in another minute or so.

The grinder on the machine (and probably similar models) is kind of loud. I would see if you can see some videos of it on YouTube to see how loud it is if something like that could be a deal breaker for you.

They haven't released a new version in some time. They released a new version of the 3200 which has an ice coffee feature while this one does not. So I imagine that they're either going to refresh this version to add Ice Coffee or will likely add a new version.
They should make the water container larger on these. I have the 3200 and love it, but the most annoying part is refilling the water every other day.

Tempted but have to hold back as we just had to pay a huge amount in taxes. We've had a 3200 for almost two years and love that thing. Daily use of 3 drinks and not one issue. My wife likes the milk drinks but uses almond milk. I prefer regular milk so it's as little annoying to swap milk. I suppose I could buy a separate milk carafe but they ain't exactly cheap at $70.

This deal was for you as it comes with an extra milk carafe for free 😉 😂

For those of you that want filters and maybe need a new lattego milk system, add the 4300 to your cart, it should show 8 filters for $0.01 and a lattego milk system for $0.01. There is a minimum checkout amount of $0.50. Add 1 additional filter. Got 9 filters and the lattego milk system for $21.17.

Now I'm glad I posted. I never even knew there was a door behind the water basin! It was dirty af lol. Was able to clean it in 15 mins with hot water spray. And yeah it's actually been like 3 years now since I got it 😂 time flies
Wash with lukewarm water so the lubricant isn't washed away. Reapply lubricant every 3-12 months

I just ordered it, but I didn't see anything about extra descaling tabs... and Phillips charged tax too.

I bought this machine from Williams Sonoma last year, happy to answer any questions you might have. I also have a highly modified Rancilio Silvia for when I want to pull the shots myself, so I have a good comparison between the two.

Things to keep in mind:
  1. You will need to run the machine and put a few dozen shots through it before it will start making good dry pucks. The seals on the brew group need to wear in before it will start making optimal coffee. Many people take it out of the box, make a cup or two of watery coffee, get disappointed, and just return the machine, so you tend to see a lot of them returned with minimal usage. Buy a bag or two of cheap whole beans for this process, save the nice beans for after when the machine is broken in.
  2. If you have experience using a semi-automatic espresso machine, grinding your own beans, tamping, pulling a shit, etc, you might be leaning towards grinding very fine. Don't. Superautomatics don't need to be really fine, in fact it will be a lot coarser than you think. James Hoffman has a great video on "dialing in" a superautomatic machine like this one.
  3. I don't drink my coffee with milk, but the Latte-Go system is very easy to use and unlike many other milk systems, is very also very easy to clean!
  4. Beyond cleaning out the drip tray and emptying the grounds every day, your maintenance is just rinsing the brew group in the sink once a week. Very easy to do. Dry it in your dish rack, lubricate it with the included food-safe grease (if necessary) and you're good to go.
  5. Machine is fairly loud. Keep that in mind if you like to get up early and make coffee before the rest of the house is "awake", or weaponize this knowledge to your advantage.

There is no add-to-cart button for the filter.

The plus/minus button. Just increase from 8 to 9. It will add the 9th filter at $20.

How much work is it to clean out the milk parts? Seems like more effort the fill, empty, clean, than just wiping a steaming wand, but curious.
