Correct.
Toyota built this as a compliance car to fill a gap in the lineup and has zero focus on it or care. If anything, it is the 'look we built an EV, it sucks!'. The first production run had WHEELS FALLING OFF. They recalled every single one! The car is slow and just utterly wild in it's idiocy.

We test drove the badge engineered Subaru version - the Solterra. Same car, different logo.
The list of infuriating choices piled fast. Want to move the driver's seat? BEEPS. CONSTANT BEEPS.
Want to back up? It beeps on the inside and inside only. Who are they warning?! Me? I"M DRIVING THE CAR.
The performance is just bad. It has a quick little bit of torque and then falls on it's face.
Did I mention the range sucks and that the car does not support fast charging so you literally cannot roadtrip it without hour-long-stops?
All in all, it just felt like Toyota was completely uninterested in building it as it is lower margin than gas/hybrid.

Then you have the ioniq 5. Hyundai's focus is straight up on on beating the Tesla Model Y. They are serious and in it. The car is shockingly better looking in person than the BZ4X. The interior feels like tomorrow and has innovative ideas, way more range, way better software, etc.
Korea is currently having the same moment that Japan had in the 90s, Hyundai should be taken seriously, esp in the EV space.

220 EPA range. But some reviews says its even lower in real life and its close to 160 miles.
160 was the highway range from what I saw.

Tried 3 dealerships in the SF Bay Peninsula and none of them have inventory. Only sales managers can see if there are any inbound, but good luck with getting them in by the time this offer expires.

I am wondering if 2024 XLE AWD will apply on the lease deal? Lease cash or the $1999 sign off with low monthly.

Came to few Toyota dealers in Orange county, CA to ask about this deal.
Dealer staff laughed at me and said "good luck".
Dealers wll add lots of junk fees so this deal is too good to be true.

I see people talking about using DCFC with this car. I would NOT use this car for road trips since it charges slow and the range is low.

Get this car as a 2nd car for daily driving and charge it at home. Turn it in after the lease period. If you need to drive 150+ miles, use your 2nd vehicle.

I am from the bay area too and this is precisely the reason I have never owned a Toyota - the sales people at Toyota dealerships around here are some of the worst, lol!

Many Toyota models beep to the the driver they have the car in reverse. Yes, it feels excessive but they're not taking any risks with your life, unlike a Tesla incident recently where a women, admittedly buzzed, didn't realize she was in reverse and drive into a river and drowned in front of all her friends.

This is probably a YMMV post - but I did stop by two Toyota dealerships this weekend. Both stated that they expect Toyota to extend this offer after April 30 for 2024's.

They also stated while 2024's are 8-10 weeks out on delivery, the current deal ($169/$2K down or $229/$0 down) still applies if you order one by tomorrow. You just have to wait for delivery. So get a salesperson who will help rather than scoff at the fact that nothing's available. Good luck!

Sales person at Right Toyota in Scottsdale AZ told me that he will honor this deal if I come to dealership. I decided not to lease since I am planning to lease EV6.
I have NOT test driven BZ4X, but hearing/reading all the reviews, I decided not to buy.

All models gets the lease cash. But 2024 has 16250 while 2023 gas 17750, or $1500 difference, or $42 difference per month over 36 months term.

The low monthly largely due to the high lease cash amount on the base model. With 2024 XLE being slightly more expensive than 2023 XLE, as well as AWD being slightly more expensive than FWD, you should expect the monthly on 2024 XLE AWD be about $100 more than 2023 XLE FWD ($42 from lease cash difference and $60+ on year model and drivetrain cost difference).

Just drive further north and you should be able to get a deal. I am seeing plenty 2024 XLEs or 2023 Limited in Oregon.
