I wonder how 8gb RAM is adequate in this day and age….
Been posting deals on SD for the past 2 years, along with making lectures, conducting them, reading medical articles, all on an 8GB RAM Windows 10 laptop. All of this with 6+ edge tabs constantly open.
That's how adequate it is in this day and age.

this just in: using a computer as a browser isn't memory intensive

The number one complaint about only 8gb of ram...is always "bUt ChRoMe!!!!"
Hack to fix this problem that isn't a problem: Don't have 17 tabs open (6 of them running video), remove bloatware, and restart occasionally. 8 gigs of RAM will be fine for 80% laptop users. Especially those using a tablet 'laptop' as they probably aren't doing RAM heavy activities to start with. Might as well complain a Ford Fiesta doesn't tow 8,000 lbs when you don't even own a trailer
The reason 8GB is OK here too is the SSD shouldn't be soldered in, so even if you have to use some swap space and the SSD fails prematurely, you can repair it or upgrade it yourself. Otherwise, it's totally fine for browsing the internet and word processing. The real limiting factor is the CPU + GPU for something like this.
I have an SP7 with 8GB of RAM. Constant struggle just doing productivity tasks. Never again. Not worth it.
Why the downvote? That's the sad truth. Whether you / I like it or not. My image freezes on Zoom. I can't comparison shop as I can't have too many tabs open. 8GB is NOT ENOUGH, and I do simple productivity tasks. I wish it were. Microsoft charges another $1,200 for 32GB or RAM. (Something one can buy for $200 elsewhere.)
Picked one up today. Came in an official Microsoft box with the product image, however had certified refurbished printed on it. Looks like its been refurbished by Microsoft themselves, in case anyone wondering.

From the command line.
Less than 80% charge or closer to 500 charge cycles is closer to end of battery life.
Don't know whether these refurbs ship with a new battery.

So decent discount for the used sp9 here.

The member asked how it was adequate and I explained it to him.

I paired it with my surface duo 2. Great phone. Pen works on my laptop and phone.
