AMEX has had some great discount offers on the subscription (spend $99 get $50 back) YMMV. I have the dog version of this and have been incredibly happy. The low power mode works well and ive had it on my dogs collar for weeks without charging, he occasionally bolts out our front door after a rabbit and takes off through woods and backyards. Have tracked him down twice with the app with no issues. It can take a minute to sync up when you first open it, and while you are panicking watching your dog run off it can feel like forever... but once it locks on it was very simple & accurate to track him in real time. Form factor is also great, but this is for a 35 lb dog, not sure on a cat.
