As someone who has owned multiple ebikes. Never get an a frame. It's dangerous getting off bike by swinging legs over. Due to accidentally pressing on accelerator handle or button while doing it.
Stick with ebikes that you can easily get in and out.
The v frame version looks really nice. And bird makes great scooters. I would buy one if I didn't have ebike already. Tempted to get this one too...
Site doesn't meant what kind of brakes they are. But Bird makes great transports. I trust the brand.
What? There are lots of pros and cons to step-over vs step-through bikes, but this is silly. Just don't turn the bike on until you're sitting on it.
I just watched a youtuber who reviews them for a living de-rail his chain then get off and use his foot to put the chain back on and that set the cadence sensor off sending the bike flying and almost hit a pedestrian! then almost does it again!(Its a 72volt bike so it has mucho power)So yea it is best practice to turn it on only when sitting on it but could be a hard habit to start. here's a time stamped video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j...7Q&t=24m0s

I don't recommend it. I have one of these - the V Frame - and while the whole product mentality is very good (a bike that makes biking easier for you and you don't have to worry too much about maintenance) and the components are good (belt drive, Kendas, disc brakes, throttle and pedal-assist), the whole thing is put together like an insane person did it.
The electric motor cuts out all the time while in use. Sometimes you have to reboot the bike, sometimes you have to squeeze the brakes, sometimes you have to reseat the battery.
The battery drains by ~10% overnight just sitting there.
The whole thing is incredibly heavy at 51lbs.
The bike comes with an app with a Bluetooth pair/sync, which you must do, because otherwise anyone who can read your easily-accessible S/N can pair with and lock your bike, and there's nothing you can do about it.
The lock itself isn't even a lock; it just sounds the bike's alarm if it's moved while locked.
The instructions say the dash should be flush in its enclosure, but it's physically impossible to do so because the wires coming out of the back of the dash are not 2D. Physics just doesn't allow it.
The stem fastening bolt mysteriously locks threads once it's in. I'm not cross-threaded, but I can't figure out how to remove it.
You'll need special wrenches to tighten the front wheel onto the fork, despite what they say, because you have to hold one nut constant while tightening the other one.
The frame looks like it was welded by a drunk person.
The integrated bell broke within two rings. The internal clapper fell off.
When I tried to warranty the bike, 2 consecutive CS agents talked at me like I were a Bird tasker reporting damage on their rental fleet, and then the 3rd one just said "we don't support that vehicle type anymore" and closed the ticket.
It's a bike they want to sell for $2000 but are sale-pricing at $700 but is maybe only worth $500.
Anyone know if there is support for this bike. The Amazon reviews are iffy saying there's not really support if you don't buy it straight from bird.
I'm trying to manufacturer-warranty the bike (reasons in my own comment below) right now. Their first CS talked at me like I were a tasker reporting damage on their rental fleet, even though they made me provide proof of purchase in the ticket. The second one repeated what the first one said. The third one said "we don't support this vehicle type anymore" and closed the ticket.
It's not worth it. For the same price, you can get a Roadster v2 from Ride1UP. The idea of this bike is good, but the execution and follow-through is just horrendous.

I actually own the V Frame. It isn't worth $700. The motor cuts out whenever it feels like it, the battery drains ~10% overnight just sitting there...the idea behind the bike was good, but the synthesis of the bike is just terrible. The whole is slightly less than the sum of its parts. Not to mention they make you download the app to pair with the bike - it isn't necessary for operation at all, but you have to do it, because otherwise anybody else with a phone and eyes to read a S/N inscribed on the bike can lock you out of your bike.
Is there battery replacements when the battery eventually dies?
The battery is replaceable, so in theory yes, BUT! Bird itself has lost ~92% of its market cap this year and it's in Ch11 bankruptcy, so this is a very open question.

Literally the first thing he said was "that was totally my fault". And that could happen with any e-bike with a throttle, doesn't matter if it's step-over or step-through. Stop spreading nonsense. EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize you're not the original person I was talking to. You're not spreading nonsense.
