"Ultimately, the difference between the three formats isn't that important. The quality of the TV itself has a much bigger impact on HDR"

With the 5 year, this is pretty safe. Although costco has a better deal right now. Much cheaper, same TV.
I thought Costco doesn't cover burn in? Is that not true?
Yes it was a new one.
Consider yourself lucky, haha. Pretty much the performance isn't consistent across the board. Some people have zero issues with the One Connect Box where it'll drop the connection intermittently. My first S95C 65" constantly dropped the signal regardless of what device I was using. I was forced to use the longer Fiber Optic Cable because we mounted the TV. The audio kept dropping out with our Apple TV 4K. My 3090 gaming PC was unusable. My PS5 and XSX would intermittently drop out.
After a failed tech visit, Samsung offered to exchange the entire unit out. I accepted, and the replacement is much better. My gaming PC still drops out every so often. It's game dependent I guess, but it's annoying. I tried $300 worth of certified HDMI 2.1 cables, and each cable had issues with the One Connect Box.
I recently bought the S90C 83" so I wouldn't have to deal with the One Connect Box. The S95C will be my bedroom TV. Lastly, I briefly tried the QN900D 65" 8K to test 4K240. Same thing. The consoles worked fine, but my gaming PC kept dropping out. That makes it a no go for me.
I think if you're streaming content directly from the One Connect Box or an external streaming device, you should be fine. Gaming can be iffy so I always recommend a model without the One Connect Box. It's not worth the headache or the premium. I haven't heard of any reported One Connect Box Issues with the S95D, but I'm not interested in an OLED with a Matte anti reflective coating.
That said, I own an LG TV with DV which I never use because it does nothing, and I'm not all that impressed with Samsung's offerings.

Aah.... I do no gaming whatsoever and only streaming movies and TV shows. My Roku that I use sometimes have no issues either but I tend to use the on board Samsung apps so as you said, that's probably why I've had no issues.

That doesn't tell us anything. Not all models would be good enough to show you any difference.
I have an a80j77 and I'm always disappointed when I have to watch things that aren't being streamed in hdr or DV, or when the game I play doesn't launch with hdr. Most content across the board is not hdr or DV.
It's as obvious as when things are only 1080p instead of 4k, or when they are low bitrate instead of high bitrate.
Is 4k a scam too in your world?
Sorry you are missing out.

I'm watching a ~700mb Bluray 1080P HEVC rip of a 2006 Heroes S01 episode right now in MPC-HC with MadVR NGU Sharp VHQ on a Hybrid 3090 at ~115w and it looks just as good as a smart tv delivered Dolby Vision stream of a movie made in the last five years. And yes my TV is 4K with FALD, dialed in and finely tuned, probably better than most oleds in the wild with BS settings.
But hey, my PC cost twice as much as your TV so it's not really a fair comparison.
I bought on 4/17 so I'm hoping they'll hook me up too.

I have a 4k LG LED from 2017 myself, I never watch it because I wouldn't be able to see any difference on that tv either, it's a turd, and that's what forced me to get a decent OLED so that I could see the difference.
I can't help but wonder which model your tv is, do you care to share?
It really doesn't matter what computer you are driving that tv with, you'd get the same video quality from my spare 5600g desktop that was $200 used from facebook marketplace. Also just FYI, if you are using a computer to stream anything it's never giving you dolby vision or HDR and often not giving you 4k on any streaming other than youtube or netflix. Computer output from almost all streaming services is heavily crippled to prevent piracy.
I'm glad it's working out for you. It's hard for me to recommend any Samsung device with a One Connect Box.

"Ultimately, the difference between the three formats isn't that important. The quality of the TV itself has a much bigger impact on HDR"
To be fair this is being taken out of context.
The context was HDR10 content vs Dolby Vision. I wholeheartedly agree if you have two TV's where each have access to the same content with the only differentiator being HDR vs DV, there will be almost no difference.
That's what your quote is saying.
**This is not the same as saying that a television where Dolby Vision is the ONLY OPTION will look similar to one where there is no HDR option which is compatible with the television set.**
So this brings people back to the fact that many streaming services such as Netflix are *only* providing Dolby Vision as their HDR format, not HDR10. This will create a difference, especially in things like shadow crushing which is really visible with the infinite contrast ratio of OLED displays. In things like shadow data, you can really put the panel and the extra dynamic range to work.
Make your choice whether this matters or not, but there's a bunch of hand-wavy nonsense saying "It DoEsNt mAtTer". That'd be correct if all services offered both, but that's not the world we find ourselves in.
I bring this up so people aren't misled. It's up to you to decide if it matters enough or not. Samsung would be smart to allow it as an additional paid license, like how you can add Dolby Surround to Xbox with a $10 license. But I know they're invested and dug in on HDR10 so they would never.
