I just did a chat to get my question answered. Chat was a real person, and came on quick on a Saturday morning, btw.

Monthly promotion rate is not locked in for renewal. Agent said, "plans may change and also we can have better plans than this in future."

Also I learned that this uses Verizon network.

Thanks for that. Amazon currently has a 15% off promo on this, dropping the price to $59.50 for 6 months:

I had to file an FCC complaint just to get my number out of Lyca. Will never deal with them again.

Oh. Great. Just bought from Infimobile without 15% off and paid $14 extra for tax on the 12 months 10GB plan $126
That's what happens when you don't even read the very first post before pulling the trigger I guess

I think we've all been there, grabbing a great deal and an even better one pops up shortly thereafter. Even with what you paid, it's still one of the best deals going. If you've activated service already, how's your experience with Infimobile?

That 10GB plan mentioned was posted on a different thread 4 or 5 days ago. I posted these other (20GB and 5GB) data plans because the prices are very low as well.

For some reason all these infimobile deal posts don't like mentioning the fact that it's much cheaper on Amazon.

What are some use cases for these? Since you have to get a new phone number each time you buy these. Could you use these on a tablet?

Verizon MVNO, so I'm guessing GSM phones won't work with this service?
Well, if it supports LTE or 5G it should be fine. But old GSM phones, no.

They sell them on Amazon and there's no tax.

Do they still hit you with the 911 surcharge if you buy through amazon? Looks like it's probably still cheaper to go through amazon either way.

For me the surcharge is an additional 14.40 for the 10 GB 2 year plan for anyone interested.

Do you know how long it will take FCC to handle the complaint?

I know. Of course we always have to realize that companies usually don't make any (or much) profit on superhot intro offers like these. They may even be losing money.

Marketeers hope to outsmart consumers by making it up on upsells or renewals. That's how they think: Always, always "how can I outsmart consumers, so they think they're getting a good deal, but it's really I who am getting the better deal".

As deal-seekers we are trying to outsmart the marketeers. It's how WE think.

So we shouldn't be surprised when marketeers decide to try to get rid of us as soon as they realize the prey they caught in their trap is one that bites.

A (very) few companies found a model where they can sustainably offer genuinely good prices relatively to their products and service. They don't play this marketeers' outsmarting game, at least not as hard (still need new customers, everybody does). But they are rarely the ones with superhot unicorn deals.

This InfoMobile offer sounds sweet for those with a Verizon compatible phone, particularly at the Amazon price. I don't know the company, but I will be surprised if they can sustain it through renewals. But that's OK as long as they still play nice when customers try to leave at the end of the intro deal.
MNVOs get volume discounts for buckets of talk/data from the four major carriers, if they run the business lean, could theoretically pass those savings in these new types of deals w/o too much profit loss.
