If you travel internationally a lot (more than 6 times per year), perhaps you should consider Google Fi instead.
Above is good advice. Google Fi is awesome for travel. I use their pay as you go plan as my primary phone/text number and then buy prepaid sims such as this one for data in the US. I turn on the Fi data before leaving the country ($10 gb isn't cheap, but better then the $10 a day fee on many networks).
