If you loved the Justified series,
...pretend this never happened. Just go rewatch Justified.
It's wildly different/inferior.
it's also available streaming on Hulu if you want to see for yourself.
No… actually people hate it because it's terrible. His love interests aren't believable. The bad guy is a joke. And the plot is boring. I watched until episode 6 and I don't think he'd even drawn his gun once.
And while you mentioned the 91% from critics in Rotten Tomatoes, you failed to mention it only has a 46% from audiences. It's awful.
If u love seeing a dude hanging out in some tightie whities, then this is a series for u! Also, if u love bad plot and writing.

Lol why do producers love coming back to a series that finished well just to leave a bad taste in the fans mouth.

thank you - was about to buy because i loved Justified
People hating just to hate. Justified: City Primeval is solid. Timothy Olyphant is back and remains impressive as an actor. The plot is again based on an Elmore Leonard novel. And it has a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes (take that FWIW). Is it better than the original? No. Is it better than Paul Blart: Mall Cop 3? Absolutely.

Nah it's pretty good. Definitely better than season 5.
It is horrible. I love the original series, but yes this like Matrix Revolutions. His daughters acting and the idiotic storyline where the essentially ruin Raylon is terrible.

I really enjoyed it, mostly because I was desperate to see Timothy Olymphant return to this character. The biggest nitpick that I have for the show is that the majority of characters are wildly miscast. That sort of lends to your critique of a bad love interest (I agree) and his daughter playing his TV daughter is just horrid. Boyd was great but the script for his character was a bit undercooked.
You have to remember Justified as a TV show also had some really low lows. Your comment about him not shooting...isn't that the whole point of his ending in the original show? That he learned to be better and think about his family and the consequences of the work he was doing?
Plus, if you didn't finish the show you absolutely missed the best parts toward the end that help bump this up a couple points.
For $5, this is absolutely worth a trip down the Justified universe again.
