Nice deal! Considering it.

The plan is worth $15/mo to me (that's what I pay for my 5gb plan - I would never use a 30gb plan. May be worth more for others), so that makes the phone $520, which is great for a p8p.

I see the only major risk is if they downgrade service or go out of business in under a year, and you are stuck buying a more expensive plan.

Tip: If you go with this, pay with a credit card like AMEX that gives a second year of warranty free. That's a better value than an extra 1-2% cash back.

Nice catch, eagle eyes!

I took this as an opportunity to see how good their support was.
- No phone number or email on their website.
- After waiting about 40 minutes for a human, the chat broke.
- They have a nice AI bot that gave me the wrong answer.

Chat thread below:

Our partner service is experiencing an interruption in Miami and they are working to fix it. You can still connect to Wi-Fi and any Helium Mobile Hotspots in your area.

What brings you here today?
I have a Different Question

Ok no problem, what's on your mind?
Pre sales question on the Pixel 8 Pro deal here: https://hellohelium.com/pixel8pro
I noticed in the tech specs of that page, it says the phone has a 6.2 inch screen. That is the screen for the P8, not the P8Pro, which has a 6.7 inch screen.
I wanted to verify that the phone is indeed a Pixel 8 Pro and not a Pixel 8.

The Pixel 8 Pro deal indeed includes a Pixel 8 Pro and not just a Pixel 8. The deal specifies that it comes with 12 months of free Helium Mobile service, an exclusive subscriber badge, and mentions the Pixel 8 Pro's tech specs, such as its dimensions, weight, and the contents of the box. Additionally, the promotion highlights premium features of the Pixel 8 Pro, like a larger display, clearer photos, and pro-level specs, which distinguish it from the standard Pixel 8 model.

Get Pixel 8 Pro with 1 year free Helium Mobile

Is that what you were looking for?

Talk to a person 👤
Sure thing, you will be transferred to the next available agent.
The team will reply as soon as they can.

The link provided by the AI bot says "6.2-inch OLED Display" - which is indicative of a Pixel 8, not a Pixel 8 pro. Just wanted to verify.

It sounds like a good deal but when you scroll down to Pixel 8 Pro tech specs they listed the Pixel 8 specs. "Display 6.2-inch OLED Display" is a dead giveaway. Are they giving a pixel 8 or 8 pro?

Be careful with Helium mobile. The signal quality is great and I got some awesome speeds on cellular data. But once you hit that 30gb per month, they hard throttle you to 1mbps. And it's bad. Like can't do anything but make phone calls bad. If you're on wifi more than half of the time during the month, great! This plan is for you. Unfortunately for me though, I am not.

I actually use this service and have for almost a year, it works well and is reliable. No you don't have to mine the crypto, but I after using the service for a while without it I decided to turn mapping on. Cannot say enough good things about it. My phone bill is now eliminated by earnings from mapping the network. While shitcoins exist, this is technically a useful currency that you earn that you and others can use to pay their phone bill. It has real world utility, kind of the opposite of a shitcoin. Though this isn't a personal finance forum, note that permanently eliminating a recurring expense from your budget is powerful if you invest the difference and compound over time. Enjoy.
How much do you earn monthly with mining?

The $20 plan is actually a $20 value when compared to other offerings. Sub $20 you get far less than 30gb. At $25 you Get truly unlimited options. Up to you if this plan fits your needs but I've tried to find a better deal at $20 or less and haven't found one unless it's a limited promo.

Sorry as someone with a phone with 512GB, I can't go back to 128GB....
What are you doing that you need that much space? My videos are my only large files and they go to the cloud.

Helium is sketchy as f**k. Do your research.
Mind elaborating or providing information? Genuinely curious what you're referring to. I've been following the mobile project since the $5 plan was posted here on SD last year. No major flags that I can see. they're closing in on 100k subscribers I don't see signs of slowing down.

The value has varied over time. Lately, about $40-$50 a month per device/plan with casual mining. In less than I year I have earned more than $1,000 per device/plan and I'm not terribly active with mining. I could have earned 2-3X that per device if I didn't work so many hours from home.

$20/mo is absolutely a fantastic price for a 30GB plan.

But it's not worth $20 to me because I don't need a 30GB plan.

I average less than 1GB data per month. So, I will unfairly compare it equally to deals with a 5GB or even a 2GB plan. The extra data has no value to me - it might if all my music and podcasts weren't locally stored.

According to wikipedia, ram for a 8 Pro should be 12GB not 8GB
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_8
The specs listed on the site are for the P8, not the P8Pro. I reached out to Helium support (mentioned in earlier comment - their support unsurprisingly sux), and they verified the phone is indeed a P8Pro, not a P8, thanked me, and said that they will reach out to their backend team to fix the specs on the website.

That said, they haven't fixed the specs on the website yet. I'm not buying into this deal (going with [https://slickdeals.net/f/17429442-spectrum-internet-customers-pixel-8-pro-128gb-500-w-60-days-of-service-junk-trade-locked-for-60-days?src=SiteSearchV2Algo]this deal[/url] instead), but if I was going to, I would wait until they fixed the site before jumping on.

Never buying another Google Pixel. Terrible design and quality. Just do a web search for pixel screen flicker. Happens randomly and for various reasons. Mine overheats often which causes the flicker. Hard pass.
I have had the pixel 6, 7 and 8. Pixel 6 had a lot of software issues. Pixel 7 would get a little bit hot. But so far my pixel 8 Pro has been amazing.

How much do I have to buy the device. If working from home, on an average per day how much can be made?

you have to move (walk, drive, run) to earn MOBILE, this helps them map network and coverage. They measure/reward daily. If you move about a mile daily you would currently earn rewards for that day and then reset the following day. In April I earned roughly $40 USD equivalent on one device. Active almost every day this month.

I would never buy another pixel phone. I find them extremely annoying to use with a bad fingerprint reader. Still still a bad fingerprint reader and a weird interface. It just doesn't work right.

Phone is unlocked, the free 12mo plan however is locked to the phone. I pulled the trigger, I drive 50 miles a day maybe the crypto mapping thing will help me pay for some gas lol.
