There is also a Ring "Chime" that you can purchase that makes the "Ring noise" when someone passes by your camera. It's handy if your phone is in another part of the room and you can't hear it, but mine is more glitchy than accurate, so I wouldn't recommend it. I'm heading over to the house where I have the hardwired doorbell later, so I'll update this when I get back.
But the $20 is a great deal. It only takes a few minutes to set up. It's 2 wires that go on 2 screws, and then the jumper at the chime box. Done.

As explained by Ring, the new Ring doorbell bypasses the existing chime in order to power the video doorbell. You can buy the Ring chime, or you can pair it with your Alexa. (I haven't done that) So you'll only be notified on your phone unless you add something else.
