The iPhone 11 is very old at this point, I wouldn't recommend anything older than the iPhone 12.

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

I was using an iPhone 11 like 6 months ago and it was behaving totally fine. Disagree that it's not usable right now, and the battery life will be right up there with the 12 whose battery life was natively poor.

Strange thing is that I see TFW where the carrier signals are. I'm guessing this is TracFone and not Total by Verizon. It seems that the Total by Verizon rep had ported my number into TFW and now into TbV. Texting 611611 doesn't help as it's saying I either have no funds or that my number is not recognized. Calling 611 is giving me prompts for MVNOs other than TbV. I'm lost now.

Phone will show TFW if you're using any of the Tracfone brands, that's got nothing to do with it.
Phone number is ported when it shows in phone.
If you've REBOOTED phone it should be activated & working - but if you still don't have service you will need to call support using different phone there's something wrong that they need to fix.

Service bars are showing but I can't call or text out. It seems like doing the port-in over the phone they didn't link my IMEI to my service. What's the best number to call for support? Just the main hotline?

Looks like we are having similar stories. What did you end up doing?
On iphone
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Then reboot. Solved my initial connectivity issue.

But as an update to everything. I called into the main CS line, the line wasn't fully activated or finished porting so they had forwarded me over to the Port Department. I spent a few minutes with the rep with the phone off while they processed and completed the activation. After 5 minutes I was able to turn the phone on and then everything began working (phone, text, data). Even texted UNLOCK to 611611 and they qouted a 7/29 unlock date. Strange that the unlock date is associated to the date the phone was delivered and port-in process started.

The UNLOCK reply date basically just gives a date 60 days from the day of line activation. 7/29 is 60 days from 5/30, so it looks like that's what was counted as your activation date.

Also note that most users get the actual unlock on day 59 or 60. However, it's also occasionally a few days later than that, sometimes day 61 to 63 (a couple of automatic unlocks were reported as late as day 65 in previous threads. Some people will start calling right on day 60 to push the unlock through, but it's usually easier to just give it a few extra days if it's not urgent.

No they are not able to solve (i have another issue with activation too. they are unable to merge my number and imei of the device)
Instead they are dragging the calls.
