Under Settings > Account > Google Voice number, make sure to 'Unlock'
Account # is your GV phone #
Pin you have to create in your GV account settings by toggling on "Call to listen" under voicemail settings.
later during activation/port at Total site, use "other" as your current provider.\
Based on info in this thread as well as info found on google, it is recommended to use google's address if you are porting a GV number and are asked for an address when providing port info for your 'old carrier':

:
If your new carrier asks for an address, you can provide them with Google's Address: 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043. That's it! Once you've provided your new carrier with the necessary information, they should be able to port your Google Voice number over to their service.

Once activated, Text UNLOCK to 611611 (send it twice, it wont work first time) to confirm your unlock date. (approx. 60 days) The unlock is automatic and sent from apple servers. And it will unlock from anywhere in the world.
Bypass port in requirement for activation
YMMV Bypass port requirement After getting device activate on total website at top click Activate>New Phone One you've purchased through Total Wireless>I want a newer number. Plan was tied to phone IMEI on activation.
YMMV, you can activate your phone on tracfone.com with new number directly to bypass port in requirement and the cost is $10 But please be reminded, after you input the imei on tracfone.com, you prepaid balance for your total-by-verizon will be lost and your phone will be rebrand to tracfone and you can't activate it on total-by-verizon wihout rebranding it back to total-by-verizon
You are NOT required to pay for a second month of service!
**Confirmed it doesn't work with a Verizon prepaid SIM card inserted 24 hours after activating the phone on Total VZ sim card.
Chase 15% Offer Details (YMMV / Targeted)
NOTE - this deal is YMMV / Targeted. I have several chase credit cards, but the offer only appears on 2 of the cards.
1) Log into chase.com account
2) Accounts tab -> (top left of screen)
3) On the right hand side of the screen you will see a "Chase offers" panel, click it
4) Top right corner there is a "choose account" drop down. If you have multiple chase cards, you will have to cycle through all of them and check the deals below that appear. not all of them will have the Verizon offer (hence YMMV)
5) If you see "Total by Verizon" deal then click on the "+" to add the offer to your card. NOTE - Remember which card you added it to (i.e the last 4 digits of the card)
When checking out on TotalByVerizon.com, use the Chase credit card that you added the offer to, to pay for the phone.
You will get an email notification a few days later, if successful (Subject "Congrats! You've successfully redeemed one of your Chase Offers")

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

Throughout that whole time I don't have any connectivity besides WiFi. When I dial the number being ported it goes straight to VM on (I guess) TbV side.
The porting out of GV takes quite a bit of time and downtime.
Ordered on 5/23, received on 5/29. GV port-in request submitted by phone on 5/29. They qouted 1 day over the phone. I received a call on 5/30 that the port-in would be completed on 6/3. Google confirmed port-out on 6/2.
While I am now seeing bars on the phone as of 6/3, I am unable to make a call or receive texts. The phone number is officially showing in the Phone section of the settings.
Strange thing is that I see TFW where the carrier signals are. I'm guessing this is TracFone and not Total by Verizon. It seems that the Total by Verizon rep had ported my number into TFW and now into TbV. Texting 611611 doesn't help as it's saying I either have no funds or that my number is not recognized. Calling 611 is giving me prompts for MVNOs other than TbV. I'm lost now.
edit: called in and completed the activation process. see my response below: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=

Phone number is ported when it shows in phone.
If you've REBOOTED phone it should be activated & working - but if you still don't have service you will need to call support using different phone there's something wrong that they need to fix.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Then reboot. Solved my initial connectivity issue.

But as an update to everything. I called into the main CS line, the line wasn't fully activated or finished porting so they had forwarded me over to the Port Department. I spent a few minutes with the rep with the phone off while they processed and completed the activation. After 5 minutes I was able to turn the phone on and then everything began working (phone, text, data). Even texted UNLOCK to 611611 and they qouted a 7/29 unlock date. Strange that the unlock date is associated to the date the phone was delivered and port-in process started:
Also note that most users get the actual unlock on day 59 or 60. However, it's also occasionally a few days later than that, sometimes day 61 to 63 (a couple of automatic unlocks were reported as late as day 65 in previous threads. Some people will start calling right on day 60 to push the unlock through, but it's usually easier to just give it a few extra days if it's not urgent.

Instead they are dragging the calls.
Total crap.
I filed a BBB and FCC complaint, waiting for a response
