Other people are commenting on this, but not answering your question. High frame rate is more of a gaming thing and this isn't really a gaming monitor. If you're using your monitor for work, you don't need >60 Hz. Personally, while I very easily notice the difference between 30 Hz and 60 Hz, I find the step from 60->120 Hz to be a lot less noticeable, so I wouldn't pay a lot more for 120 Hz, even for gaming.

120+ Hz combined with 4K is pretty expensive. I did a quick search and only found one MSI monitor that had that combination at this price point.

If you don't understand the point of this monitor, it's not for you. It's an older panel, but well reviewed and excellent color coverage for professional production work in general, for the price. These have a good rep with professional creators and people who process photo / video. And that's the point. The refresh rate was not the focus of this panel.

Oh crap you even test 30hz? 30hz is not usable even in 20 years ago. It was 48hz in windows xp..
As for the 60-120, it's VERY noticeable, for web browsing and office. 60hz is okay but not really comfortable or smooth. That's why you see MacBook and all office laptops with u and p cpu now come with a 120hz screen. However, anything above 120hz is hard to recognize in office and everyday life.
In fact, just 100hz will make a day and night difference from 60hz. 120hz over 100 is not far away though.

I guess your mouse is smoother and scrolling in excel looks smooth. But no real benefits.

apple's studio display is 60hz.

60hz to 120+hz has a very noticeable difference unless you only use your monitor for static work. Even excel runs very smoothly on my Dell G3223Q (4k 144hz) and I think that's worth the extra money when I got it on sale, but then again I also use it for gaming as well. A lot of 4k 120+hz monitors are on sale nowadays anyway so it's kinda hard to justify buying a 4k monitor with only 60hz like this once you experience 60+hz.

There is a seller on eBay that sells these for around 225-250. I bought one a year ago and it was pixel perfect without any issues. Use it daily, really nice monitor for what I paid.

Edit: There is a lot of talk about the USB C port dying but in my case I have noticed that my computer had problems connecting after an update for some reason. Easy problem to fix by unplugging/reseting the monitor. This was with a Mac fyi.

I have two of these

I like the stand a lot

When gaming, I don't notice an issue at 60hz since my 6900xt usually gets about that in fps. While u don't have to match hz, you get less artifacts. At this 1440p is still the gaming resolution if you desire greater than 1080.

I've had this since shifting to WFH for covid. Great ergonomics, amazing panel. HDR performance is very good. Yes it is 60hz, but it's clean of any tearing/streaking. I use it primarily for work, also for xbox & ps4. Compatibility is awesome with 4 inputs including USB-C with 60watt charging. There's a USB hub.

With the ergo mount, usb hub & inputs it really cleans up the desk quite nicely.

My only complaint like most LG units is the sluggish UI. It's about 500ms to load the input screen and shift inputs. I would have preferred a quick push button since I switch machines often. a minor gripe

I have two of these side by side. One is dedicated to my personal Mac Mini m2, the other I swich back and forth between my work macbook during the week and apple TV on the weekends. I love this monitor. I do not play any games on it (I have a mac, lol) that require fast refresh. I run them both at 2560x1440 and they look amazing to me.

BTW I solved the slow/annoying joystick menu for changing inputs by buying a $20 4k HDMI switcher with a remote control. Run everything through that, installed it under my desk, and use the remote to switch between and it's almost instantaneous. It honestly works way better than I expected it to.

60 Hz is fine for office work (which mostly consists of Excel, web apps, and PDFs for me). I mostly look at static windows. When I scroll Excel using my mouse wheel it scrolls a line at a time instead of smooth scrolling, so a higher framerate wouldn't be noticeable there.

I love high framerates for gaming. I use a 120 Hz OLED TV with black frame insertion, which gives the motion clarity of a 300 Hz display, and has far clearer motion than any LCD.

But for office work I'd much prefer high resolutions. Unfortunately, this monitor is too high resolution for 100% scaling and too low resolution for 200% scaling. I wish there were more affordable 5K and 6K options. I don't need to do color correction, I just want a large size with high pixel density.

Be warned of the USB-C problem that was widely reported.

Personally I was on the unlucky side. I had 3 of these monitors whose USB-C had all busted at different point in time, all within a year.
Ended up returning all of them to Costco. They're otherwise very functional and beautiful monitors.

Bought 2 of these last year for my WFH setup. Both working great with my M1 Macbook Pro. I'm using a Caldigit dock to connect them to my macbook. No gaming is done on these monitors, just work. The extra real estate is really nice. Have not run into any issues with USB-C yet.
