There are other realistic concerns in this thread that people are voicing and they are getting downvoted into oblivion. The Govee shills are out in full force.

It's been on every night since then and have it tied to motion sensor (so random on/off throughout the evening). And its been working as expected.
I dont use the app unless its the for holiday colors (they have nice scenes which cant replicated on HA). Otherwise automations and controls are handled through HA.
Tempted on getting this for my first indoor govee...

As for tracking, get real. Your basement isn't that interesting.
If you think 'tracking' has anything to do with your basement - again - you are ill informed as to what data from these apps is used for. Think bigger than your 'basement'.
