Not going to be for everyone. But, if you've already got a compatible track system and are in the M18 system, it is the cheapest I remember seeing.

I just purchased this saw w/ track kit from Factory Authorized Outlet. I wanted to get everything since I don't have any tracks as of yet. $399 price same as HD but used a $20 off email code to bring total to $404 after shipping and tax.

I think this is a good price for the tool-only @ $285. If I saw this first I would have went this route.

I've been waiting a long time (over 2 years!) for a deal like this and just recently decided it's not worth it. Maybe if this came up a month ago I would have jumped.

This is a rare deal, so if you've been waiting for this, now is the time to buy!!

It's a good saw. If you're planning to cut 8/4 or better it will bog down on standard batteries. Rips usually require 3+ passes.

Blaines farm and fleet had it for 400 with a free 8ah battery. Not sure if you can return the battery but I can sell it for 100-120. Ends up being around the same tho. And if you're deciding between this or a cheaper track saw(wen/grizzly), definitely go with a more expensive track saw. The cut quality is night and day. M18 gave glue line quality cuts where as the wen was inconsistent and choppy. M18 also works with wen tracks. So if you want 110" you only have to spend $60 rather than $200+

You need to replace your blade .. I've never had this issue and I use this saw almost daily

What made you decide it wasn't worth it?

I meant to post that to the packout radio thread, not here.

You can also reverse hack it and get the tracks for cheaper as well to.

I grabbed the first kit with the 55" tracks and gonna keep that and got a second kit where i'll hack to get the 31" track for $85.98.

Great deal. I have this saw and you will be happy with it. A few quirks, the blades are non-standard size, you'll need to buy from Milwaukee or aftermarket. The tracks are not EXACTLY compatible with Festool, Powertec, Makita. The only real issue I have is the vacuum connector. There is no locking mechanism, so the vacuum hole will fall off frequently secondary to suction over long cuts, especially doing 8 foot sheets of ply since any friction will wiggle the hose out. Overall, I would definitely buy it again.

I haven't used mine a ton yet, but I did use it on some 1.5" white oak and it sailed right through without issue. It doesn't really "bog down" in my experience so much as "settle in" to responsively handle the load.

Not OP, but I can give an answer for why it IS worth it: a desire to avoid having to use a table saw unless necessary. I have a pretty nice table saw (with dado capability), but they'll eat your lunch in the blink of an eye with a momentary lapse of judgment. Track saws are much safer and can cut like lasers.. just not as quick/repeatable as a table saw.

They're a pretty standard size blade for track saws.. Makita/Milwaukee blades are interchangeable but you'll want to be mindful of blade kerf thickness vs your splinter guard.

I've 3d printed a little TPU 'dust hose adapter' ring for my Makita track saw which helps hold the hose snug. Didn't need to do that for the M18.

Rip 8x4 3/4 ply about once a week and have never had it bog down and always get through in one pass on the factory blade. You're doing something wrong.

What's better the makita or milwaukee? I'm on both platforms already

How's the XGT? I haven't seen reviews comparing XGT to milwaukee

I've had all three Festool track saws… Milwaukee is lighter.. cuts just as well imho.. although not as deep as the Festool 75
