This is more or less for informational purposes and those who don't want 4K, but hopefully may help out a few.
I scanned John Wick 1-4 UPC's and got all in HDX for $8 and tax.
Top Gun: Maverick is also available for $2 + tax for the transfer.
The quality is fine for me and thought it was a decent deal. Figured anyone who wants to go through this process can add it to their fandango/vudu library.

I've been leaning more into physical media and digital storage. Currently running a 200Tb PLEX server because I'm sick of having to fight with them over a $2 movie.
A few of the major studios do not take part in D2D via VUDU. Here is a handy tool to a site that tracks a good percentage of them. It has lots of pop up ads, but they seem to be lessened if you are using a VPN. https://dvdupc.com/history
If you get into building a VUdU library just know that a few things may not cross populate even if you link your streaming library between services. TV series are the worst at that.
Look for VUDU gift card sales. Often listed here on SD.
Just today my girl bought 60 Blu-rays for $15 bucks at a yard sale! 36 I didn't own and 24 I'll use for trade! My movie room looks like a blockbuster and I love it.
Could be totally off base here, but I've been getting the vibe that they might be phasing out D2D before too long, so get em while you can.

I keep all of mine in the original cases, in a dark area, and fairly well climate controlled. And while I have not yet had disc rot per say....I have opened cases and found "cloudiness" on discs that had never been used. And, while they did play..they paused and skipped and a few froze.
I guess really the best option is to buy discs, back then up using a ripper and play off the backup and hope that and the disc don't go bad at the same time.
I was really surprised by the expected longevity of the different formats. I thought they would be about the same as DVDs.

When they put A History Of Violence on VHS they said the same thing. Forewarned is forearmed all I ever advocated for was to inform people you're not buying anything other than access and that the company can LITERALLY cut off that access whenever they want.

Was broken for me too for a couple of months, I just tried it through this link and it worked. Worth another try
I have had about 400 movies that I've purchased via disc to digital get removed from my account over the last 10 years. VUDU is not a reputable merchant. I constantly have to fight with the rude customer service reps about this. I've gotten about 100 of them back via forwarding them receipts for my purchases. this seems to be a standard practice for them now that Fandango has purchased the company and farked it up
Have gone to watch them and been like ugh...WTF?! I have gone to taking pictures of my collection and you can see the number of films drop in some of the vudu apps. Like when I went to watch tales from the hood 1& 2 on Halloween, and they were gone. I found the receipt and it took till December 2nd to fight with them to get them readded

This is an interesting thread. I moved all mine from cases to folders (because the cases were out of control when it comes to space), but these are dvd's and outdated. But it is disturbing knowing at any moment the digital can disappear. It's probably stated in contractual agreement and nobody expects a business to last forever for it to be pasted down generation to generation. Generations faze out and businesses collect again for all this entertainment.

You just log into your Vudu acct, go to the 'My Movies' page, and click the blue button (you might need check your extension settings if you don't see it). Then you open/import the .csv file with Excel and make it nice and pretty. It supposedly works for Google/Youtube and MoviesAnywhere too, but I haven't tried.

I should add that most new additions were Sony, so link your MA account to Sony Rewards and get a free movie for every 5 conversions. Morbius was also on the list if anyone cares. It's Morbin' Time!
