I have this exact trimmer, it's about 8 years old and has worked great for me. I use it 6 months of the year about 15 minutes a week. I went ahead and bought this one, and can sell the old one for probably $50 on FB marketplace, maybe a little more and get 8 more years out of it. Thank you OP!
Sounds like you live in living hell with your HOA.
Tell your HOA it's a hybrid, and that they can go pound sand. WTF are they going to do, give your string trimmer an emissions test? FFS

Likewise, had mine for about 5 years. Mine would over heat and often afterward be difficult to keep idle. At different times earlier in it's life I used it for trimming down wood brush and tilling rows with the attachments.

I bought an electric last week for the battery. It's super light and hopefully it will hold up for just weed whacking. I'll keep the gas one for bigger needs.

Anyone use this with a hedge trimmer attachment? If so, how well does it work? I have a large hedge and it is a pain with a corded hedge trimmer.

Is this 2-cycle or 4? Our HOA has a restriction on 2 cycle machines for homeowner use. Only lawn care companies can use 2-cycle, sucks we know but it is what is.
Just go electric, a 4 cycle string trimmer is uncommon and generally not great.

I have a big property and love gas trimmers over the electrics personally.
Almost bought this, but not having a quick feed head kills it for me.
Sure, you can buy an aftermarket one, but makes it less of deal.
I feel like every trimmer these days should come with a quick feed head.
I've had my Hitachi gas trimmer for 11 years, last year I replaced the carb for $25, still runs great.

I've had one of these for about a decade. It's never let me down. In fact, I'm pretty sure the one I have is a refurbished unit.

It just started having a little bit of a carburetor issue that I was planning on fixing. Parts are readily available and cheap.

Now, I can wait for the new one to show up and then take my time fixing the old one. 👍

One of the best things that you can do for these units is to only use non-ethanol gas.

Who did the refurb?
Husky or 'somebody else'.

Husqvarna is a terrible brand imo… I wish I knew prior to buying a leaf blower

Read the 1 star reviews.
Small engines are sorcery for many people. I don't know why as they are extremely simple beasts. E free gas from the nearest station, JASO FD 2 stroke oil when needed, and go.

Most of those one star reviews are from people who thought they were getting a reconditioned trimmer, when it really wasn't. If it was truly factory reconditioned, i might jump on it. Doesn't look like it is though, so I will pass.

Was out running both Husky and Echo equipment today.

Plenty of pros out there running Husky stuff with no problems. I'm not a pro, but I abuse the snot out of my Husky saws(550 and 572) and brushcutter weekly.

That said, if you want a GREAT leaf blower, check this from Echo. It puts a smile on my face. https://www.echo-usa.com/blowers/pb-9010t

Bought this same one 9 years ago and it's still running fine. Non-ethanol gas helps.

I fix a lot of trimmers. Recently put a coil in one of these. I was pretty shocked at how quiet it was.

E free gas is not available to everyone. Buying canned gas is expensive. And the trimer is sold as factory reconditioned.. Its even mentioned as such in some reviews.

"This trimmer is factory reconditioned to perform like new. NorthernTool.com offers reconditioned tools and equipment that meet the same standards and quality as new products..."

Used the Echo saw today. Need to get going with the log splitter. Good times!
