Looks like the window Air conditioner unit will be on the next coupon book. I may buy one now and just ask for a price adjustment unless anyone has had trouble in the past asking for a refund?

You open the window and close it on the AC unit. It also has a platform it rests on

I drilled no holes and the thing can't go anywhere. It's easier than any other AC I've used and I have zero fears of dropping it out the window

Honestly confused why anyone thinks this is difficult to install especially compared to conventional styles. And especially considering how much smaller and lighter this type is
When are they coming out with a U-shaped AC with heat pump?
opposite experience. ours cooled better than anything we had prior. and we left it installed for 2 winters now. living in the northeast.. the u shape version makes that possible.

not sure what would make it a pain to uninstall though. the install for us was 10x easier than a traditional ac since it has a built in stand.

Can we buy now online and just price match or return and re buy worst case scenario? I am new to Costco and don't know how returns work and the details. I just purchased a membership because it came with a $40 shop card and they were selling $premium timberlands for an out the door price of $90 each limit 10 per account. Lol

I read the 15th from a couple people but a few said you could order now and just price match. I'm trying to see if that's for sure

I would think it was easier, not harder to install? My regular shaped one barely fits in the window, I have to prop up the window when I struggle to fit it in, big gaps to fill etc.

The bracket looks a bit more difficult than it really is to install, I can see people easily being confused by it. There's lots of foam to install, there's 2 big foam blocks that need to be trimmed and installed on the sides and then even more foam needs to go on top of that to close and seal the window. The manual even suggests buying more foam when purchasing the unit. It is very quiet and cools extremely well. GE has similar unit that hangs down and doesn't block as much of the window that could be a better buy, but IDK what that install looks like. Mine did get a bit of a funk to it and needed to be cleaned like a mini-split a/c unit.

I got my 12,000 BTU unit in September 2021. I installed it into my detached, two car garage which could get to 104F in the Louisiana summer. For two summers, it had no problem keeping the garage as low as 72F, which is the lowest I ever set it. I normally kept the garage at 75F. As the heat has started this year, it is not reaching its 75F set point and barely keeping the garage at 80F. I'm worried about what will happen when the outside gets to 90+F. I noticed some ice at the bottom of the evaporator coils but even after letting that melt overnight, it's still not reaching set point and the ice is back. I checked the level and it's angled slightly back like it should be. Still trying to figure it out.

Edit: Clarified that I have have the 12,000 BTU unit that's posted in this deal.
Check filter and clean the inside and see?

Yup. First thing I did. Cleaned the coils in and out with a foaming cleaner as well. Still icing.

These are great. You can program them to come on daily at a certain time everyday. Well worth it at this price.

I have not heard good reports about longevity on these, and usually most green stuff is crap that falls apart and you have to replace before you can save any money on electricity, and no way are you saving the planet buying an AC that should last 20+ years, and get one that lasts 5 if you are lucky. "Inverters" can be good, but they aren't cheap if they are.
Not trying to save the planet. Trying to cool my house. I've had this unit 3 years and it's great.

Great price, but even more annoying to install on sliding windows than a standard window AC... Anyone know of a guide to install one of these in a sliding window?

I am planning to buy two so I bought one now and will buy the second after deal is live. Non member fee would have cost me $30 so I decided to renew. I recently picked up midea 12K BTU for $250 from brandsmart. Rated at $98 a year running for 8hrs a day. These are rated at $63 a year with same usage. I am currently saving close to $90 a month just shutting my malfunctioning central unit off at the breaker. Using these window units to cool my house this summer will save me $200+ a month in electricity compared to previous years of malfunctioning central ac.

Price per article is $1,999 per year 2022. Now probably close to $2,200?
