Whether it's worth $1,436.40 is hard to say because they depends on the person's budget, among other things. If you live in an urban area where there are businesses and IT companies, you may be able to find a used one for a much lower price.

I have a Sayl office (non gaming) chair. I find it to be extremely comfortable. It's a smaller chair that is probably better suited to smaller framed people. If you are over six foot or over 200 pounds, I would probably look elsewhere. It fits me much better than an aeron chair. I also have a Haworth office chair my work have me, but the Sayl is more comfortable to be.
Also, in my opinion, this is the best looking office chair I have seen. My home office is in my family room and this isn't a huge eyesore

The Embody has been worth every penny, yes theyre expensive and they can creak which for the price you can nitpick all you want.. But at the end of the day the chair supports your body well. I can work all day in this chair and not have any fatigue to where if I wanted I could play games after work in the same position. No aches and pains is a price i'll gladly pay

I have an embody and bought my brother an Aeron. I wish I bought the Aeron but the Embody was $250.

That being said, I've had this for 10 years now or close to it. It's held up very strong and feels still newish.

Other "gaming" chairs get destroyed due to cheap materials used over time.

The only thing I've had to replace was the right armrest due to a friend scratching it up to the point it was horribly uncomfortable to lay my arm on.
