3M friction tape on clearance for $2. Good deal in my experience, I just paid nearly $7 at Home Depot. It's great for grip tape on my softball bats but can be used on other handle tools or as an electrical tape.

OP, the photos of product (even the one in your post), the product description, and the reviews reveal that this is not 3M 3407NA, it is 3M Temflex 1755. The Temflex seems to have a rubber adhesive on both sides, so it's sticky to grip. Just an FYI, not saying it's a bad price or a bad product, just different from title
Careful what you say there, you don't want to end up being on the news.
This is not a failing on OP's part.

It just shows how terrible Walmart's platform is at scraping data.

You can feed it a UPC that's sitting on their shelves and it will try to parse data from the worst sources.

If you need 1755, this would be an easy way to get a bunch for free.

Quote from btrig :
William Brown, who has been at the helm of aerospace and defense contractor Harris for nearly five years, is one of the least liked CEOs of any major company. Many employee reviews attribute the declining morale and a burgeoning culture of distrust to Brown, speculating that his chief concerns — the company's profits and shareholders — often come at the expense of employees.

By that measure he has been successful so far. Now trading at over $90 a share, Harris stock has gained by well over 150% in value from the time Brown took over in November 2011. Brown has managed to increase the value of his company in the eyes of shareholders. However, many current and former Harris employees allege that Brown is cutting costs by getting rid of more experienced and more expensive engineers in favor of younger engineers with less experience.
That worked out really well for Boeing...

3M just hired the most hated CEO in America to lead them. He does a good job increasing stock price at the expense of ruining the lives of numerous hard-working employees. I will actively go out of my way to avoid 3M products as long as they're the CEO.
and who do you think this will hurt? the CEO with $19.1m in total comp in his first year, or the numerous hard-working employees?

Walmart (and most large sites) do NOT "scrape" the data, they subscribe to services that cost a ton of money and have the highest (sarcasm) quality data. Same companies take said data and purposely put mistakes they use in case it is scraped (because they scrape sites left and right to be sure you aren't "stealing" their data. GfK/Utilize is one of the big players (yes that GfK, look up their history)... You can pay $5-20K a MONTH for a single manufacture or product category with these data feed services.

Like everything nowadays Manufactures get paid by the data services, who get paid by every website. Yet it's no uncommon to see major errors depending on how you lookup the data. (usually done via UPC and Manufacture numbers, but it's all indexed in a fun way to make it harder to implement so you use their embedded system, so that they can get direct access to the end user and collect data... oh what fun.

Yeah, I work for a company that uses these services, and also been hit with lawyers claiming data was stolen, when we used data directly given to us from the manufacture... it's a fun world we live in nowadays.

Can someone explain what texture this is? Is this electrical tape or like hockey tape? Is it good to use if you'd like to have more of a grip on tools?

It's like hockey tape texture. That's actually how I found out about this tape and found this deal, searching for Hockey Tape on Walmart. I put it on softball bats, I've only used it for a few weeks but it still has some tack.

Bill Brown seems like a perfectly nice guy. Not sure why so much judgement of some. Worlds most hated? Is that supposed to motivate readers?

maybe you should blame the board of directors who pick the CEO, or the major shareholders instead? Bill is just doing as the board directs. do you hate him because he is most visible or because you think he is really calling the shots here?

Nice flex however boycotting 3m. Good luck with that.

Reminds me of a kid who says they aren't going to breathe air until they get what they want.

Anyway I want to help your cause:

No more will you use:
Adhesives
Protective equipment
Air filters
Dental services (can't get a tooth exam without 3m)
Purchase or renovate a property (too much 3m building materials to control
No urgent care or emergency room visits, you won't be able to be seen without use of a 3m product.
Post it's or tape LOL

That's just the tip of the iceberg. Help me finish out that list in case people want to support your cause.

A bunch for free? I guess $2 is almost "free" but if you get "a bunch", it might not seem "free" anymore.

3M isn't as dominate in medicine as it used to be. I worked in a hospital for 40 years before retiring, and at the end of my career our hospital used about 80% less 3M products than when I started because 3M tends to be the most expensive. The same goes for most of the other things on your list. We have two forced air furnaces in our house, but we haven't used a 3M air filter for over twenty years. Post-its? There is only about a hundred different companies making those. Same goes for tape. There is very little that 3M makes that is so unique there is no alternative. I only use 3M electrical tape because it is still better than everything else, but in the end, 3M is not as irreplaceable as you think.
