I recommend getting a tick remover key. They work well and are easier/faster to use vs. tweezers.

Absolutely second this. We live in the woods & have large dogs. We all have tick keys on our keychains. No accidental pinching hair, fur or skin. Very little targeting the nasty little beggers. Soo great to use on a critter who doesn't stand still. Cheap & they don't wear out.

Found on Amazon:
Tick removal step 1
Center the key tool slot over tick and apply pressure and slide the key away from tick.
Tick removal step 2
Keep pulling the key tool and tick until removed.
Tick removal step 3
Finally, carry out the cleaning process.

There are images you can see on there as well.
