Says it's USA version. I've ordered from GreenToe before, shipping address was from Adorama. I'm pretty sure it's just a MAP pricing thing. Retailer is willing to sell for cheaper price, but due to MAP agreement cannot advertise is directly as such.
3rd party marketplace, so when you place an order, it will be fulfilled by an authorized dealer.
I have this lens for my Sony a7III and it's great. For those unfamiliar with Greentoe just know that $649 is the price that you'll pay. They don't charge for tax or shipping. I buy most of my lenses through Greentoe.

How much margin do retailers typically earn on camera lenses?
Like the other guy said, I'd reckon a lot.
I'm looking at possibly dumping my A7R3 for an A7R5. If I bought at retail price I'm looking at $3,500. If I buy through Greentoe, I'm looking at like $2,700ish. That's $800 or 23% just on list vs. unlisted and not considering commission of whatever percent to Greentoe. If you do some research and find prices paid on Greentoe, you could try to negotiate a small percentage off directly with store's sales department.
I think most companies aim for 15-20% profit, so you'd need to find out wholesale price of the lens to stores to come out to an accurate figure for minimum sales price.
This is a full frame lens, so while it will work fine on your crop sensor camera, it's a sort of awkward zoom range when cropped in. It's fairly tight at the widest 28mm. I wouldn't go for it unless you are planning to go to full frame at some point. There's a Tamron 18-70 f2.8 I think made for crop sensor Sony that would be a much better fit.
