Says it's USA version. I've ordered from GreenToe before, shipping address was from Adorama. I'm pretty sure it's just a MAP pricing thing. Retailer is willing to sell for cheaper price, but due to MAP agreement cannot advertise is directly as such.
3rd party marketplace, so when you place an order, it will be fulfilled by an authorized dealer.
I have this lens for my Sony a7III and it's great. For those unfamiliar with Greentoe just know that $649 is the price that you'll pay. They don't charge for tax or shipping. I buy most of my lenses through Greentoe.

I'm a little surprised to see Greentoe not being censored out . I've been around since the old days when GT was used or VerdeFoot, etc since SD used to historically block the word and links to GT.
Yup. I remember I had to right 6reen toe for it not get blocked
This confuses me. Even the 18-135 lens that came with my a6700 has a crop factor on that lens. So it's the equivalent of a 200mm zoom. But that's an apsc lens. So what differs with the crop factor between FF glass and apsc glass?
The benefit of an APSC lens is that they are typically smaller, lighter, and priced lower than their FF counterparts.
The difference is that an APSC lens will have major vignetting on a FF camera.
That is why it is recommended to buy FF lenses even if you are currently using an APSC camera. That way if you ever upgrade to a FF camera, you won't need to upgrade your lenses too.

Right but the crop factor doesn't change? I have the a6700. My kit lens is a 18-135. But with the 1.5x crop factor, that lens is the equivalent of a 27-200mm FF piece of glass. If I put a full frame lens, the crop factor is still 1.5 right?
I bought my Tamron 150-500 last year and last month bought the Tamron 28-200 from greentoe. To the commenters falsely saying "grey market." Again, you're wrong. Both lenses have been registered with Tamron AND received warranty activation. You get a printed receipt in the box from an actual brick and motor store (at least my 2 lenses were). The prices I paid were including shipping and tax. I wish I had used GT to buy my a7iii, probably could have gotten one new for the price I paid for a used. Same with my 17-28, could have bought that new for the price I paid used. Live, learn, and hopefully remember. Now I need to save up for one of the A7v variants when they come out to upgrade my a7iiii.

The crop factor on an APSC camera would be 1.5 whether it is a FF lens or an APSC lens
Use this as my primary lens on A7R III. Sharp/crisp photos and pretty good for recording as well though can struggle a bit at night time and with less light. Debating selling off my final Canon lenses (70-200L, 85, sigma 35art; have adapter) and replacing with Tamron 28-200. Tamron competes really well nowadays.
Be careful sharing name publicly of the retailer. against policy.
They ask you not to share the retailer or the price. I suppose the retailer could get in trouble by the manufacturer for selling at lower prices. At the price I'm offered for authorized US versions, I can abide by these simple rules.

How much margin do retailers typically earn on camera lenses?
