Thanks for this. Fun show I would keep on in the background. For $20, I'll appreciate the uncut versions with no commercials. Sometimes they cut the funniest lines in TV broadcasts.
There are 3 specials included on Apple iTunes, making a total of 173 episodes.
Where are those 3 specials? Do you mean "special features" or extras which are just 3 short promos listed at the end (they aren't numbered among the episodes on iTunes or Vudu)? Vudu has those promos mixed in too. When someone says "special" I think of something like the Project Alf movie which completed the Alf series.
As far as I can tell, both iTunes and Vudu has 170 episodes and the same content. Which platform to buy on? Well, given the plethora of 20% off Vudu eGC deals lately, I bet most people have a lot more Vudu GCs than Apple GCs whose deals are scarce.
As always, the end date of these sales are never given. We don't know if this is a price mistake which could end at any moment, a 1 day sale, a week long sale, or one that spans multiple weeks. I always appreciate and enjoy (sarcasm there) how Vudu and iTunes never put end dates on their sales except ones labeled as "weekend".
Just because Vudu changed its name doesn't mean I'm going to call it FAH now, and X is still Twitter.

Appears the 3 specials on iTunes are just short extras.
