Thanks for the tip on the cheaper Bauer kit! Looks like it might be made in the same factory as the Ridgid hose kit. Is the car hose kit good to keep on the vac for most things even besides doing cars, or does the stock larger diameter hose work better for construction-type clean up around the house?

Thanks for this tip!
I was gifted a free 10 gallon, 4 HP, 1-1/2" hose shop vac that is solid. Beggars can't be choosers. It's great for cleaning the car, but when I did some renovations and some more involved crawl space cleaning, I hated this thing until I borrowed a 16 gallon, 6 HP, 2-1/2" shop vac.
My thoughts:
- For around the house use, I would personally not go larger than 10 gallon.
- 4HP provided a good amount of suction. I could not discernably notice a difference between this 4HP and 6HP (also Shop-Vac branded) model except they were using different hose diameters (this matters obviously, but I can't provide any specific data).
- Oh my, the 2-1/2" diameter hose was a game changer and I never see anyone talk about this. Infinitely fewer clogs.
This model, at 1-7/8" diameter seems to find a sweet spot in size. If I was in the market, I would probably give this one a shot.https://slickdeals.net/f/17202724-ridgid-4-gallon-5-0-peak-hp-portable-wet-dry-shop-vacuum-with-car-cleaning-kit-99-97?src=SiteSear

However, I can't see this price. It's been around $100 forever.
