Bought one of these 1 month ago almost exactly for $5. My goldfish and mollies go absolutely nuts over these.

I have 2 tanks both with plecos, they don't like these giant sized things, I get smaller ones for the same price at petsmart.

in my experience, plecos don't mind eating regular flake or pellets either. they would either go to the surface and eat upside down with theirs mouths facing upwards toward the surface (very cool to see), or wait until the excess food fell to the bottom after the other fish were done eating and just ate leftovers off the floor.

fyi cichlids are very mean. i had a pleco that was larger than any tank mate (maybe 8-10 inches long and very thick) and one day after months of living together, one cichlid decided to start pecking at the pleco, which had no effect since the pleco has tough skin. eventually the cichlid started pecking at the pleco's eyes until the pleco didn't have eyes anymore. then the other cichlids detected the pleco's weakness until they finally found some soft spots are started taking bites out of the poor pleco. i didn't bother getting anymore plecos after that. rip

Had a tank of cichlid for 2+ years then bought some of these. Shortly thereafter I started seeing snail everywhere. Today I have a tank full of snails. I'm 100% convinced this food introduced the snail eggs to my tank, it was the only thing changed. Buyer beware.

Been in the hobby for over 20 years, that would not happen. Snail eggs could not come from food. Snails hide deep in the substrate and mostly come out at night. You probably had them the entire time and never noticed. The eggs can hitchhike on plants, rocks, driftwood, decor, etc. They can also come from water from the pet store.

Check out Blackworm foods on ebay. Hes a great source for quality aquarium food that wont break your bank like Petsmart. Been purchasing from him for years. He gives freebies with every purchase as well.
