Until the last 2? The 50 straight to DVD/VOD the last decade were fine??
Actually no... lol. But in all honesty the last movie of his I had seen prior to those was Ghost Rider, which wasn't great but at least more entertaining than POTG or SFTD. I did watch Renfield last night though, and found it to be pretty entertaining. And I almost forgot Willie's Wonderland (who could forget that gem)... I did watch that one with my son and found it good/weird enough for a few laughs. Gonna watch this one either tonight or over the weekend as Amazon just delivered it. I picked up Dune 2 4K today though, so that may take priority tonight.
I used to love Nic's movies... until the last 2 I bought. Prisoners of the Ghostland and Sympathy for the Devil. When I saw this deal earlier I saw his name and hit the back button. After seeing it had a few thumbs ups and reading the comments I decided to watch the trailer. This one actually looks good and with a 91% RT score, it has to be good... right?? Anyways, I just placed my order. Thanks OP... and everyone else who made me take a serious look.
This is the perfect airplane watch. Not a great movie, I'm not even sure if I enjoyed it at all. But it did have one seen that had me laughing out loud like a maniac on the plane.

I'll give Nic Cage movies a shot whether I'm interested or not and didn't care for prisoners of the ghostland either. Dream Scenario is a good one & I will say one of my favorite newer Cage films is Pig.

Sounds like a miserable airplane movie. Why would you try
To persuade others to go through the same pain you went through?

I also quite enjoyed Pig, and living in Portland, I was entertained to learn of my city's underground Chef Fight Club. 😂
last Nick Cage movie that look good The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent [4K UHD] but was not and I wanted my money back. So, I need more persuasion
Pig was also my favorite of the more recent, decent Nic Cage Movies.
This one was a little weird, but unique enough that it held my interest throughout.
Nic cage had a long, very bad stretch of movies that were virtually unwatchable unless you were into the "so bad, it's good" thing, but I must say his last 4 or 5 movies have been solid to very good, the same can't be said for the unfortunate choices Bruce Willis had to
make for his last hurrah. I totally understand why Willis did what he did, but what I don't understand is the market for those types of horrible movies. Who buys them, who watches them, how do movies like that make any money?
I've never seen such a polarizing Amazon review base for a movie. I started reading the 1-star reviewing expecting the usual "box came damaged" or "didn't play in my DVD player" comments. But almost all of them flat out claimed they hated it.
And for that....I'm in.
It's definitely hit or miss, even for the expected audience. I'm a big Nic Cage fan and try to keep up with his output. In particular, I've enjoyed some of his newer output like Color Out of Space and Unbearable Weight.
Thought this might be his attempt at a Being John Malkovich indie riff but it just didn't hit the mark for me. It was a frustrating watch because there was certainly potential, but nothing was done with it.

Ive seen a few people say that on this thread, so I may have to give that one a shot. I started watching this one last night, and just couldn't get into it. I did try though, and watched right at 30 minutes of it. Maybe it was the fact that I watched The Beekeeper right before it, and that one had my adrenaline pumping a bit. This was the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I may try to finish it up at some point when I'm in a mellow mood.
CheapCharts has the lowest digital price $10 on 4/1/24. So this deal is 25% cheaper and you get a DVD and BluRay along with the digital code. Thanks OP!
