They sell an Extra Strength version in Canada, in a Blue packaging. (Orange is regular strength).
Extra Strength version sold in Canada is 2.3%, instead of the watered down 1% version sold here.
The Extra Strength 2.3% version works wonders, wish they would approve it for sale here. So much better than the 1% version. If you like this product, and ever go to Canada, I highly recommend bringing back a half dozen or so tubes of the Extra Strength, it is so much more effective.

Maybe it's insurance co dependent or something else, but before I had jaw surgery, my OMFS said they can prescribe it, but it always gets rejected so he just tells everyone to get the OTC since it's *almost* the same.
Despite this saying arthritis gel, this can really work for any aches and pains along the body and is the safest form of NSAID to utilize.
There is a 3% prescription option available
I had prescription strength diclofenac/Voltaren about 8 years ago. Back then you couldn't get it over the counter. It was $100 a tube and insurance would not cover it. For me personally, it worked great but only for about 10-20 minutes. Then the pain came back. My doctor said to not use too much as oversaturation into the skin, would cause it to be carried to other parts of my body by the blood. It can cause stomach bleeding, hearing loss and if you really use too much, it can affect the kidneys and liver. because of that warning, I was afraid to keep applying it every hour. In the end, i stopped using it. I still have a tube left in my old medicine cabinet.
I used to use this (diclofenac) when I was in France and in the UK but when i arrived in the USA, local pain relief was not common.
In Europe it comes in cream, ointment (greasy), gel.
The emulgel has 12 hour efficacy and works on pain and inflammation.
I got some Voltaren at costco last year. Packaging looks similar to this one.
It only became available for over the counter use in the US in the last couple of years Voltaren is the name brand, there are other generics that are the same stuff.
I get this from the VA and I have numerous tubes all over the house, in my go bags etc. I use it constantly. It might be a YMMV for relief, but there's been plenty of times I've been on trips and rubbed this on in the right spot and felt better. Works way better than Bengay or any capsaizin creams IMO.

Do they care if you cross the border with it? NY border agents took my Molson Bradour because I had too many cases, they were jerks about it too. It's freakin beer, not fertilizer and box cutters

"Sir, personal import limits are 24 cases per person. Sorry."

No. Have all your receipts ready in hand. Then when they ask "are you bringing anything with you that you purchased in Canada?" I hand them over a stack of receipts, and say "all this". Then they just say "okay", and wave me on without looking at anything.
I haven't brought over beer, but I've brought over suitcases full of Ice Wine from Niagara area.

Sweet, good idea with the receipts, I like that. Thank you!
