the refurbished OLEDs from DELL come with a 90-day limited warranty, should be written in the description

the new ones have a 3 year warranty on burn in

This is why I would always buy a new oled with full warranty.

Just bought one, here's hoping it's like new model. Since it only has a 90 warranty, would it be worth buying a 3rd party warranty?

I ordered one, thanks OP! For all you people complaining about the 90 day warranty I agree it should have at least been a year but in my experience I've never had a monitor or TV Die. My 2016 LG Oled is still going strong with zero burn in
Ditto. Every TV and monitor I've ever owned worked fine until the day I resold it. That included two OLED TV's and one OLED TV used as a monitor (zero burn in). This monitor has very good built in protection for burn in or they wouldn't sell it new with a three year warranty. If you do the exact same thing all day, every day, that has a static image, then you might have a small worry (which wouldn't be a gaming scenario that this is actually made for). I'd be curious to see the number of warranty claims for burn in, it's minimal, I'm sure. You probably shouldn't get OLED if you believe all of this nonsense. But people just love to post the fear mongering.

read the fine print. "refurbished"
It's not fine print and IS the reason it's $400 off. It's also factory refurbished which is different than refurbished. More than likely, these are new units where a change was made after manufacturing and they can't be sold as new. It could be as simple as firmware, a loose screw during production or packaging that was changed. I'll find out tomorrow when mine arrives and post what I get.

Thanks. Look forward to reading the condition they arrive in. Some complaints I've read are scratched screens due to poor packaging, and pink hues.

For what it's worth, I have one of the initial batches of this monitor that I ordered the day they were released.

I got it January 19th, and it died on me April 22nd. Was working fine one night, woke up the next morning, wouldn't power on.

Set up an RMA. They asked me to take a photo with my name, the date and time, and my service request number written on a sheet of paper placed next to the service tag on the back of the monitor. Never had to do anything like that before.

They set up my RMA, 10 days later it got canceled out of nowhere. I contacted them, they said it was a "technical glitch" and set up another RMA.

I received that replacement and it had permanent marks all over the top and bottom 2" of the anti-reflective coating of the monitor from shipping.

I contacted them again and told them it was unacceptable for me to get a replacement that was in that kind of condition for my $1200 monitor.

They shipped another replacement, and this time someone hand taped a piece of static cling plastic to the screen, and while not perfect, it's much better than the last one they sent me.

So long story short, I would be very careful buying one of these with only a 90 day warranty.

Also you're probably gonna have problems with eARC, it's very finnicky if you can even get it working at all.

I attached some images, you can see how along the top and bottom 2" or so of the monitor where the styrofoam makes contact with the screen just how much pressure gets applied to those areas during shipping, and since Dell doesn't ship these with a static cling protective film like Samsung does, there's a very high chance you'll get one with the coating damaged. YMMV depending on how UPS handles it I guess.

Since the majority of refurbished units are repaired monitors (like mine that had the power board just suddenly die) chances are these will have been shipped at least 3 times by the time it gets to you. All I'm saying is you're taking a gamble. I regret my purchase, wish I'd gone with an LG instead.

I have it. To my eyes fonts look super clear, almost like a Mac monitor. Leagues above my old Samsung G7.
I just got one and was worried about text clarity but it is top notch! Even sharper than the 32" 4K OLED 240hz LG Ultragear 32GS95UE, which I returned after getting this one

Wondering how these are for mixed use. Looking for a new office monitor, prob about 75/25 productivity/gaming.

Thanks for sharing your experience. How was the return process shipping wise? Did they just provide a label to drop off the faulty monitor? Thanks.

Just finished setting it up. I was worried when it arrived in a plain brown box, but it was very well packaged. The stand and cords were in their own box as well as the base. Two smaller boxes well packaged within the big one. No manual or documentation. The screen was well protected by soft black foam and it did have a two layer piece of foam taped to it. The inner layer is typical TV screen foam and fused to it on the outside is a layer of bubble wrap. The tape wasn't great, it looked like it had been peeled and reapplied. But, to my pleasant surprise, the screen is perfect. Not a single scratch, blemish or fingerprint.
So far everything looks great and the monitor works perfectly. It's actually much nicer and sharper than the LG C2 42" it's replacing. It had firmware M2B104, so I updated to M2B105.
Out of the box and set up, I can't tell it isn't a brand new one. No issues. The box and packaging were disappointing and worrisome, but all is great.
I am not worried about the 90 day warranty. If it works out of the box, chances are it will work for years. I only use this PC for gaming so I'm not worried about burn in. I have a lot of experience with OLED screens and have never had an issue with any. This also has the newest QD-OLED screen (gen 3) that has many developments and features to prevent that. Well worth the $400 savings.

We got one that won the lottery! Let's see if any of us other gamblers can as well.

How long did it take you to get shipping confirmation? Mine's supposed to arrive on the 24th, but it just says "Your order is being scheduled for production and is on track to meet the estimated arrival date."
