That plus a $10 discount from my employer's ADP lifemart discount program brought it down to $1,503.25 pretax.
Edit: I found it, but the code is not applying in the cart and its saying its invalid.
I realize that not all games use a lot of memory, but if you wanted a machine to run same VM boxes for development, etc. this is fairly limiting these days.
I'm just surprised that with many systems coming with 16/32, that you cannot upgrade a high-end desktop gaming rig to 64gb memory, even with 4 slots (2 available)
No, it does not max out at 32GB. I had the same concern when I read the spec, and because I use Adobe Premiere Pro I wanted more. You can find the 5600 MHz 32 GB stick and get the part number on Crucial's configurator, and then get the 64GB dual channel kit at a better price, you can probably guess where. Not only does it work well, if you use AMD's Ryzen Master program, you can bypass the fact that the BIOS locks the memory down to 5200mhz and set it to the Expo 1 profile. I can verify that it runs that profile stable at 5600mhz and does provide a small increase in the PC Mark memory Mark score.
Just for testing purposes to see if it would work, before I put the side cover back on the case, I populated the second ram bank with the original to Samsung 5600mhz sticks that came with the system and it did post and recognize 96GB of system RAM. I chose not to leave it that way, only because I don't need more than 64GB and I didn't want to mix two different brands of RAM. The Crucial 32GB sticks are very nice, they have a fairly low profile and have heat spreaders installed.

"Thank you for reaching out to us! Please be advised that the Legion Tower 5 Gen 8 (AMD) with RTX 4070 Ti Super (90UX0013US) is equipped with one 1TB M.2 SSD for storage and supports an additional 2x 3.5" HDDs, 1x 2.5" HDD, and 2x M.2 SSDs. Furthermore, the computer's memory can be expanded up to 32GB of RAM with four DDR5 UDIMM slots, supporting dual-channel configuration."
In addition the same specialist links: https://psref.lenovo.co
This also states: "Up to 32GB DDR5-5600"
Now that last one has a mouse-over that states: "The max memory is based on the test results with current Lenovo memory offerings."
But... Do I have an recourse if this does not support more memory when Lenovo makes these statements? Do you have any evidence as to a higher maximum to ease my concerns about purchasing this system? It seems much more compact and space-saving than the Tower 7 offerings, which is a nice feature for a small work area.

I ordered the 32GB modules using the part number in Crucial's configurator in a 2x32 64GB kit from Amazon. It works great, have spent many hours using it, no problems. Tis absolutely does work just fine.
I also for curiosity sakes installed the original 16GB modules in the other bank just to see if it would recognize 96 GB system RAM and it did, However I removed them as I don't need more than 64 GB and want to stick with one brand even though the specs and the timings are the same on the Crucial modules.
Additionally The Crucial modules have heat spreaders installed where the ram that came with the system do not.
