G.E. is garbage.
Really?? A repair guy told me to only get GE or Whirlpool.
Whirlpool I'd not take it for free. Shitty brand.

1. The water filter, mentioned above, is expensive.
2. The door stop can be broken by a toddler. We've gone through 2 of them.
3. The condenser fan in the freezer has developed a grinding noise that comes and goes. I replaced the grommets twice so far (recommended solution). It does help, but then the problem comes back.
The short of it is that I won't buy another GE refrigerator after this one.

That's sucks as I have a GE fridge that looks almost exactly like this except it takes the regular MWF filter that's cheap to find anywhere and has been running fine for 9 years now (knock on wood). I wouldn't be surprised if they cheaped out on the design now or purposely made them to fail after a certain amount of time. At least it's not a French door style with an in door ice/water dispenser.
This is true and kind of a crap move by ge but there is a permanent hack you can setup in about 15 mins. YouTube vids available.
GE will send you a bypass plug to eliminate the filter so the ice/water still operates.

Bosch. Unless you're willing to step way up for premium brands, Bosch is a great way to go for a fridge or dishwasher.
