I've had a version of this mower now for 4 Summers, if you have the time to push mow a lawn that takes an hour, then this may not be the mower for you. I mow about 1/3 acre front yard with mine and don't ever get the low light, plus the mower is dead silent.

I will probably never go back to a Gass push mower, this is just too convenient. I just pull the battery off charger and mow, never need to run to the gas station for it.

I scooped this up the last time the price was this low. Beware that some of the reviews/pics/videos are of the 2135 not the 2125 (this one) and this does not come with dual blade select cut that mulches so well that you allegedly don't have to bag.

I was disappointed.

However, this plowed through high grass and seemed to bulk up power (got louder) when it needed to far better than my much older model without dying. I've had gas mowers that couldn't do this.

Keep sniffing gas fumes and ruining your hearing if you want, this one clearly tops a regular gas mower though. Not to mention no maintenance and takes 1/3 the footprint when storing.

Should I get this or a basically brand new LM2135SP from local seller for $400?
Hate to say it, but - "it depends".

What battery does the 2135SP come with? And I'm assuming it will come with the standard charger that comes with 2135SP?

2135 is a better and more powerful mower. You're saying you can get it cheaper than this one from a local seller. I'm thinking the catch is battery.

Why does anything electric powered bring out the crazies?

I have this one. Battery is degraded after 3 years. Replacement generic on Amazon is $200 or so. It does a pretty good job. If the lawn is thick, it will need a charge to finish the last little bit (I have about 1/4 acre). I sharpened the blades once since owning it as well. It could cut better but I am not about to spend several hundred dollars just to replace it.
Mind sharing what replacement generic you got? I'm assuming I'll need to get one in a couple years.

I see the price as $549 . Is there a coupon or need prime for that price ?
The deal (as stated in this thread at least) is dead it seems. Showing $549 for all. SD has marked this deal dead.

How do you have this one when it is the 2023 version?

You are lucky they took it back. I thought Costco was the only place that would do that. That is why I want to buy a battery-powered mower from Costco. I hate messing with gas mower.

This.

I went from one of the nice Honda HRX push mowers to the EGO 2165 with the 10ah battery and a free 7.5ah bonus battery. I'll not go back to a gas mower.

The EGO is better in so many ways.

It's lighter. It's quieter (by a lot). There are no exhaust fumes. There's no oil to change. There's no spark plugs to change. No air filter to clean/replace, etc. I don't have to worry about finding one of the handful of gas stations in town that sell ethanol-free gas (and it's associated $$ markup). It also handles tall and/or wet grass better than the HRX did.

Takes me about 1.5 hours to mow the whole yard. I get 2/3 of the yard done on the 10ah before it gets down to 1 bar (20%). Swap to the 7.5ah battery in about 30s and finish the rest with >40% left on it.

One of the keys to long-term battery health for modern tools (and EVs) is to keep the charge levels between 20% and 90% as much as possible.

Store the batteries with 90% charge in a climate controlled area. Only charge them to 100% right before you use them. Don't run them down to 0% either.

2135 comes with 7.5 Ah battery. Did you purchase the 10 amp hour battery separately?

How much do you think they change over time? I can promise the changes were minimal at best.

I haven't gotten it yet but this is the one I went with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...0RT2&psc=1

There are a lot of 5.0Ah as well but I was looking for something a bit bigger as the 7.5Ah seemed about right for my lawn.

My experience with an approved warranty replacement on a 2 year old battery has been terrible...4 weeks of calls and still no ship. There is a no communication between CSRs and order fulfillment.

Ego marketing is similar to a free printer with expensive ink cartridges. Get a free mower and charger with the purchase of a $400 battery.
