The more premium Spectre has been on sale with roughly the same specs for $1150 from what I can tell.
The main concern here would be screen brightness/resolution, it would seem. I can't figure out what this exact model, but based on other Envy models on HP's site, it is likely 300 nits.
This previous deal had a nicer screen (500 nits) but only 16 GB RAM for $50 more:

As far as HP quality goes, I bought one of these just after Thanksgiving in 2015 and I still use it almost daily.
I usually leave it plugged in but the battery will still survive two hours. I might have 15 or 20 internet tabs open but that's about all i tax it. Im not a gamer. Youtube works great. The only upgrade was adding a second stick of ram to go from 8 to 16gb once it started slowing down 3 years ago. The tablet/tent function didnt work initially so I never messed with it since. Touch screen still works fine. I like the size as it doesnt need an aux screen like my 14". However, you definitely feel its added weight in a book/travel bag.
The previous deal also had a much better processor. I didn't notice the "U" at the end at first either. Unlike the AMD counterpart where the 780m is present in both 7840U and 7840HS, the Arc graphics are only present in 135H and up. A very silly restriction, but that's how Intel did it.
The silliest thing is the previous deal would really benefit from 32GB, whereas this one not nearly as much, because the GPU is gimped anyway.
Silly configs. Not surprised though since it's HP we're talking about.
