Quote from WooHoo2You :
There are some people who claim that 16:10 is vastly superior to 16:9 even if they couldn't tell the difference unless they saw the two screens side by side. They are so absurdly similar on a small screen it isn't even worth talking about. For example these [ytimg.com] are probably 15.6" screens and even here it is hard to spot the difference. Your windows won't scale (functionally) any different either nor does that extra 1/2" of screen in one direction allow any extra productivity.

The only time I think it actually matters (ish) is for gaming or maybe content creation. Some programs might not support a certain ratio. Now, who is hardcore gaming or content creating on a 2-in-1's built in screen is a different conversation.

Buy the one you like the most (of course) however the people impacted by the difference is not worth drawing a line in the sand over...

The few extra lines do help. You fit more things vertically. I remember when I was doing a fantasy football draft on yahoo. There were some options that they put on the very bottom that I couldn't see on a 16:9 laptop. When I went to different computer with 16:10 ratio, I could see it. It was like a flash applet so you can't scroll down to see it. That was the first time I noticed the advantage of 16:10 screens. It's not about whether you can see the difference side by side, the difference is there. You are mathematically getting 11% more vertical real estate.

deal is dead. The open box excellent is now about $680. It was $471 last night. Open box good is $650ish (was $451) and fair is about $630ish (was $420ish). I ordered one and am debating whether to pick it up, but now seeing the price jump, I probably will.
This means I have to choose between this and the Acer swift go 14" 16:10 for $455 I just got on Amazon. Uggh.

Makes sense and I guess different use cases. To me I'd rather horizontal 'real estate' for running windows side by side or watching widescreen videos. Not saying you are wrong though. Personally I'd probably go with a 3:2 if I wanted more vertical space. (but much harder to find compared to 16:10)

yes agree it's all a matter of individual needs. I do think laptop manufacturers are finally seeing that consumers don't use their laptop "strictly" for media consumption (that's what tablets are for) and more and more are going towards 16:10.
I wish they would make 3:2 more but they are only on enterprise level type laptops. Good luck finding a deal on those.

Let us know how it goes if you end up picking it up. I need to research the BB return policy for returning devices to different stores and if there is a restocking fee. I am guessing no fee under 15-30 days.

I think it's 15 days for standard members. Don't know about the higher tier if they still have those

Does anyone know if return policy starts on the day the order is ready for pick up or the day you actually pick it up?

I just picked up mine, and even though I ordered open-box excellent, it was brand new, sealed

I picked mine up earlier today. Mine was 'fair' condition per their website.

I received the laptop only, no accessories/box/paperwork/etc.

Device is in perfect condition except one small scuff on an edge. All in all I'm happy. Thanks again OP. 👍

I will need to pick up a pen or use an old spen from a tab s6 I have. May look into the Wacom One pen.

I picked up mine today and just like your - just the laptop and nothing else. I ended up with a good condition model and I see no scratches or scuffs.

The unit was marked as a shelf display and the sticker has 8/23 on it. So, I guess these do not move a lot.

Either way, the initial impression is pretty good for ~$450.

- It is about the same size (slightly larger) than the Samsung ChromeBook 2 (4K AMOLED with an i5-10th gen).
- The Chromebook pen worked fine.
- It seems to be pretty well made and is light and appears quick.
- The nvme is a WD 740. I will perf test it later.

I will have to see if it is worth keeping to replace the Samsung Chromebook 2 unit that I use a lot. The Chromebook 2 is pretty limiting though since the ChromeOS is kinda vanilla and limiting.

You are lucky. I ordered Excellent as well and mine didn't even come with a charger. I had to argue for a while to even get a $30 gift card.

The one thing I am disappointed with this is the build quality. Maybe my expectation was too high. Particularly, on the left side of the laptop, there's a very noticeable squeak when I press or squeeze the back left side almost the entire left side but especially near the power indicator light. Does anyone have this? I think someone might have tried to open the back.
