Previously I also did a lot of Metro and Tracfone deals to give to friends and family.

That said I have been burnt enough times and learnt the hard way to stay away from them. At least with Metro the system rejects orders beforehand. With Tracfone the issues happen after you get the phone…if something goes wrong in activation the customer service outrigjt lies and wastes your time .

I saw quite a few comments on "unlocked automatically after 60 days"
That was NOT my case a few months ago, I needed to talk to CSR for unlocking.

I had this phone for about 5 months. The battery sucks, the SOT was about 4 hours on a full charge, and AccuBattery estimated it even lower. The phone heated a lot. Both issues should be caused by Samsung's in house 1380 chipset (fabricated by Samsung as well). I had a OnePlus Nord 20 at the same price range that lasted about 11- 12 hours SOT on a full charge without heating issues.

The camera is good but not splendid. The screen looks good but has lagged touch register/none-register issue. Overall this phone is buggy and not worth the MSRP of $699. $100 seems like a fair price if you don't have other choice.

Just an FYI for those who plan to unlock this phone and use it on REGULAR Verizon (postpaid) service. ONLY the Verizon carrier-branded Samsung A54's have band n260 for 5G mmWave coverage. This, like the Metro by T-Mobile A54's, have missing bands on regular Verizon service.

And I would also check to see if this version A54 even has C-Band (n77). It probably does, but I would make certain as C-Band is VERY important for Verizon 5G data.
I have the A54 from Metro last year and it works fine the Total or US Mobile. It gets 5G and have not noticed and change from my Total Samsung A15 with regards to 5G coverage. Maybe it's effects some in a certain area? Heck of a phone all the way around. Solid camera and video too.

How do u unlock - what is the process?
Will they refuse if u don't pay for the 2nd month?
for the second month with Total, I ask if they had a lower tier plan and for $10, I got their talk & text plan (Samsung A15) with no data to take me to the 60 day unlock. I didn't want to risk or delay the unlock. Forgot to add that there is no Total flash screen at startup.

I havent been able to get a verification code from the link and I've tried it from 3 phone numbers with 3 different providers, so I wonder if certain numbers are just like.. blocked from their verification code thing, or glitched with it, but I dont know why that woudl be the case. If anyone figures out how to get a verification code from Total by Verizon working, after a period of failure, please let me know
Try using a different browser. Also disable your VPN if you're using one. I had my GV voice numbers show up as ineligible while using Firefox, but those same numbers verified with no problems when I switched to Chrome and turned off my VPN.

It could be that GV numbers are ineligible (mine is a Mint number), or it could indeed be a systems issue where you can try again tomorrow...

However, if your number wasn't eligible, a good system would at least send you a message saying why, not just ghost you.
So where can I get a number to port for cheap, assuming GV will not work?

WELCOME15 takes $42 off the phone, but removes the $230 discount. Was free shipping at checkout for me. That code from coupon sites is a referral code for the rewards which gives you 5000 points, tho you have to wait 2 months for them to be available.

My AT&T number worked fine for verification, tho you don't port in the number yet. You start the port in process once you have the phone and activate it. There is a third party id verification process you have to do to get the $230 discount and requires you to take pictures of your id and provide a picture of your face.

If that last sentence is true then that's way to much work for this POS phone even at $100.
Is this true? Take photos? Pls confirm since it would be a deal breaker for me.

My Mint number didn't work, but my GV number did (after more than one chat with Total support).

That said, my GV number is not new - it's quite old and I use it a lot. A new GV number might have more issues.

Back in November I ported a GV number that was only a day or two old. I ported to Metro, but at least Google is not the holdup.

Does anyone know if Total phones work on AT&T? My Verizon s21u doesn't show as compatible on the ATT site but it does work on their network.

They might not fully work. Notably, ATT is bad about WiFi calling. VoLTE or 3G calling might also be hit and miss depending on what frequency bands are supported. Those are the typical reasons that the phones are not "compatible"

I have the same phone from another deal and love it. It has expandable memory, unlike more of the higher up models.
Resolution and cameras are phenomenal. It is solid deal!

I hate slickdeals. I have 7 phones lying around from the various Total and Metro deals. Why do I buy them? I don't know. Why is it so addictive? I don't know.

I guess those 7 are getting another new friend.
I have 8 iPhone 11 from metro waiting to be gifted to my family members once those unlocked

I received the phone and trying to activate, it asked for whether I want new number or port-in a number, did anyone try if getting a new number will go through?

How do you port google voice number once you receive the phone. I tried to submit my request online after unlocking my google voice number and use the phone number as the account number and pin as 000000. However looks like the porting is stuck and not completed. Any help, please
