Milwaukee M18 FUEL Gen-2 Mid Torque 1/2 in. Impact Wrench w/Friction Ring - HOME DEPOT PRICE HACK $135.86

HOME DEPOT PRICE HACK - Get the Milwaukee M18 1/2" Gen 2 Mid Torque Impact Wrench with friction ring (that's a mouthful) for 135.86+tax!

HOW I LIKE TO DO IT:
1. Add the M18 Impact Wrench 2962-20 to cart.

2. Add 48-59-1862S to cart (Battery starter pack). And BOOOOM. Prices should update and show the big discount.

3. You should pickup the tool at a Home Depot location. Set a different pickup location for the battery starter pack. This will allow you to pickup ONLY the Impact Wrench at one store, and then you can cancel the other items that would be ready at a different store. I like to do it this way because I've been denied in store multiple times when trying to return only one of the promotional items for the big discount. I think it just depends on the employee/location tho. Many people report that they are able to return only one of the items in store just fine, so yah idk...

4. Place the order (most difficult step, wink wink).

5. Cancel the items you don't want. Text SUPPORT to 38698 or call for online order support at 1-800-430-3376. There's a way to cancel online and in-app as well. You may not be able to cancel right away if an item needs to be shipped to store, so cancel when it arrives at the store (may take a week or so).

6. Wait for your refund to come thru to reflect the $135.86+tax price!

CHEERS!

It's too bad they don't offer a lower capacity single battery kit with the deal.

This worked without any hiccups. It was a bit cumbersome in the app, so I did it from a computer browser.

Added both to cart. Checked out. Set each item to pickup at separate stores. Waited 15min for order to settle in My Account. Was able to cancel just the batteries from the order from My Account, didn't need to call or involve anyone from HD. Picked up the drill for $143.xx otd.

While you can use smaller batteries, I wouldn't if you're going for max torque. The tool is designed to have maximum efficiency (torque) with at least a 5.0 battery.
Torque Test Channel has a good video explaining why this is.

Makes sense. Though my use case was just to have this in my trunk if/when I get a flat and need to swap in the spare. Undo some lugs and then reapply lugs. So it would be a brief job.

I get it. Lightweight equals fast.
All you can do is give it a try? If it's car lugs, this is probably overkill anyway.
I have the 3/8 Stubby and it works exceptionally well on a 4, or 6ah battery. Bit of a dog with the 2.0.
I will say that there are plenty of comments about how a 3/8 stubby couldn't do X or Y, (for various reasons, I'm sure) but for me it has been fantastic.

Is this worth picking up to have in my trunk… the off chance I get a flat tire and need to put on the spare? Or would that be considered overkill?

If you have money to spare. I bought 2 of the low torque Kobalt impact wrench $60 each and it took off my 90lbs lug nuts easily. YouTube channel tested at 200lbs. For the price you can get 2 Kobalt and there plenty of cheap Kobalt battery that goes on sale. At the price I don't feel like I waste a tool just to be use once a year.

That's your opinion. If Home Depot wanted this to stop, they wouldn't explicitly enable it by having discounted prices itemized on the receipt and allowing partial returns at those values. If Home Depot felt this was theft/fraud and didn't want it to continue, they would've stopped it years ago.

Home Depot still profits, Milwaukee sells more tools, and people get to walk away feeling like they got a good deal. Everyone wins.
Not an opinion, just objectively wrong.

This tool is a must have in every vehicle. We have 4 vehicles, and 1 in each, with a battery. Over about 7-9 years having the first one I've used it once, but I've helped roughly 6+ other folks, everything from lugs they could not remove to getting the job done fast. IMPORTANT, this tool will often spin the OEM jack up and down quickly vs. the painfully slow hand cranking. The only unfortunate part for me is we have 2 Craftsman, 1 Milwaukee Fuel monster sized unit and now this 4th smaller unit. They have become smaller and smaller, and still work just as well.

How good a price is $163 for the charger and 2 6 amp batteries? Seems like a good argument to keep the batteries / charger, given the torque posts require the better 5+ amp batteries. Have there been better prices? The purchase went exactly as planned for me, so I have time to figure out to pick them both up or to cancel the batteries/charger.

No problem adding two items getting the discount price and then waiting a half hour and canceling one item I did not want. It's not like Home Depot does not know this is happening so anyone saying it is fraud is a bit naïve. I got the M18 inflator for $112 which I have been looking for for quite some time.

let me see if i understand this correctly, you think a bunch of random joes out smarted a multi national corporation with a $320 BILLION market cap?

were you dropped on your head as a child?

if home depot didn't want us to do this, they would stop it. if they sell an bundle that they don't want people to break up like this, they list it as one SKU. like this bundle here: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../321639486

the linked bundle can't be broken up and to be returned together. the bundle in the OP is meant to be broken up.

they do this on purpose to get around the minimum advertised price. they are contractually not allowed to list these items for less than what the manufacturer wants them to be listed. they would LOVE to list and sell this impact for $135 and move truck loads of them. but they can't. so they do this.

Thanks for the heads up on Kobalt. Ended up picking up the Kobalt Next-Gen 24-volt Variable Speed Brushless 1/2-in Drive Cordless Impact Wrench. Currently $80 off. Also comes with a nice zipper carry case.
