Please stay away from the Mirai. The hydrogen/H2 fuel costs $36/kg. The $15K fuel card they will give is good for 25K miles. It'll cost ~$180 to fill up, which is good for ~300 miles. I'm part of a telegram group of Mirai owners. Many there cannot get near to 400 miles advertised range, no matter how hard they try. People in SolCal have to deal with unreliable H2 stations. People in SF just had their only 3 local stations closed permanently.

Thee are 192 Tesla service centres in the US. There are 300 Mitsubishi dealerships. Neither is very common it seems. Too bad if you want 3 rows these are the only 2 options in a small ev/phev. The X is $$ and the ev9 and r1s are as well though ev9 is more reasonable.

The outlander is the most affordable 3rd row suv you will find. You will see quite a few of these on the road in the North as their AWD performs well in snow. I had an outlander sport 2012 that is still on the road today, only needed routine maintenance. My newer highlander and rav4 have had more issues than the Mitsubishi. I would wait, however, till they offer 0% apr for 60 months. These cars don't sell as fast and have don't hold their value as well over time.

Maybe one day Mitsubishi will bring back the Montero

We had a Nissan Sentra bought new that had a busted transmission at 82,000 miles. Traded it in and only got $2,000. A month later got a letter saying I could have the transmission replaced for free under a class action. Poor timing for sure.

We also had a Rogue that had similar issues but whenever we took it in under warranty they told us to get lost. It eventually failed around 85,000. We fought and got them to replace the transmission for free but the new one only has a 12,000 mile warranty. I wouldn't touch another Nissan CVT.

It's based off of the current Rogue platform.

Better warranty than Nissan and more value for the money.

Get a Mazda CX-5 for the same price. It's made in Japan, has a very reliable engine and transmission, and has all the bells and whistles for the same price.

Outlander plug-in is made in Japan also, does it have a HUD, panoramic roof and massage seats as options? An AWD system that allows 30/70 F/R distribution of power?

I've considered Mitsubishi every time I've looked for a car because they usually include a lot of options at a lower price but yeah I'm not sure what kind of pleather they use in this one and the whole thing just feels cheap.

My farts will love the cloth interior

There have been many car financing deals lately with low apr (such as this 0%, and mainly .9% or 1.9%). My question is how are manufacturers able to offer rates so low in the current environment (when everything around us is telling us interests rates are so high, borrowing is so expensive, 7% mortgage rates, etc). Are the car makers just eating the cost of the loan (or at least the cost of buying down the rate) in order to move cars? Are they seeing some writing in the wall about people not being able to afford cars soon and are hoping to get ahead of it by offering low interest rates at a loss?? Mazda sends me emails regularly offering .9% for a new car.
Yes, they borrow at 4-5% and give you 0%, eating the difference.
