RAV 4 prime was a contender but its price stinks garlic farts. I know some like them.

I'm surprised to hear complaints about the leather. We have an SEL with the two-tone orange+dark-grey and it's been phenomenal. A couple years later it still looks new and way above its price range. Looks are subjective though, so follow your own taste. We really like the pano roof, sound system (no EQ adjustments in the Bose system does boggle my mind though), rear AC adjustment, split seat options for arranging cargo creatively, lane-keep actually keeps you in center, heads up display becomes a must-have for future cars, wireless Carplay works without a hitch, integrated rear shades, auto wipers, auto high beams, impressive fuel economy (I get about 30mpg real world), memory seats, remote start through the app (glitchy but works), the AWD is very impressive in heavy rains (great YT vids on how it works, similar to Honda's SH-AWD), and I could probably go on. Point is, it's simply been a great car.
Power is fine, even when we have 7 on board. Won't wow you at all, but never feels unsafe either. Granted, I'll admit that if you are a more aggressive driver it will probably disappoint you. Have no complaints about the CVT, while I'd probably prefer a traditional transmission for peace of mind, the CVT has to be appreciated for getting us the great mpg. The 10 year warranty should cover any issues, so I don't lose sleep over having it either.
The third row is puny, but a game changer for sporadic use. It's great to be able to have visitors over and go around town in a single vehicle (half the fuel, tolls, parking, etc). Cramped yes, but again, this is just a contingency solution that is phenomenal to have when you do.
In summary, just wanted to offer one other view. It's been a solid buy in my opinion. Dealership experience depends on where you go. I used google maps to find all dealerships within 50 miles of my house and read through the reviews to find one (one of the farthest away of course) that had great reviews regarding service (sales i s a different beast, so I wouldn't give those reviews as much weight). Sure enough, they've treated me well. Did a couple basic recalls with no drama. Not a luxury experience or anything, just straightforward service.
Hope this helps.
Outlander is a close second and may be a tech marvel in disguise. It's a joy to ride. Try one when you get a chance. You will be stone surprised.
And regarding the PHEV model you are so much praising, unless you have come from future, you can't assure its logetiviy either.
As far as pajero is concerned, it used to be extremely popular back in the days (in Asia). No idea what happened to Mitsi (but I am in USA since 2007 and never found anyone praising Mitsu here which was a cultural shock for me initially)
And yes, I have not test drive it b/c there is no reason doing it when I know I am not going to buy one!

I couldn't agree more, I've had two Toyota Hybrid Prius. My first Prius I had until it had 250K miles on it, then I gave it to my daughter. She's still driving it and it has 300K+ miles. I'm on my second Toyota Prius and I have 236K miles on this one and it's still going strong. The Toyota Prius Hybrid is just freaking awesome! Standard maintenance and zero issues
But in all seriousness, the interior of these new ones is real nice from what i have seen. Do they still offer the V6?
