Can anybody recommend these? I've heard Asus is having some quality control issues but the prices and specs on these are very tempting.
Thanks, but that's Asus provided info. I'm looking for real world, not fantasy land. Battery claims from any company are usually greatly exaggerated.
Which other brand laptop with 3K OLED display, latest Core Ultra 7 CPU, 16GB LPDDR5 and 1TB SSD is $350? Actually show me any other brand that is less than $750. Waiting...

I was shocked looking at the pricing of the Surface Laptop with upgrades -- for the 15" model, it's $800 more to go from 256GB SSD/16GB RAM to 1TB SSD/32GB RAM. That's like $100 in parts for a normal laptop/PC. Thanks Apple for teaching other companies that you can charge outlandish prices for upgrades and people will buy it.
lol. I am gonna sell some of the old stuff for $100,$200 and piece together toy money for one of these. or I return my iPad Pro...
The only downside to this laptop for me is the 16:9 screen, which aesthetically bugs me with the larger chin bezel.
If I got this, it'll forever bug me that ASUS slapped a 16:10 screen on this EXACT shell and sold it as the Vivobook S 16. They even confused themselves; the pictures on asus' own store page for the 16 show the S15's 16:9 screen 😂 https://shop.asus.com/us/90nb12e3...s5606.html

Mine that I ordered yesterday came today. Not sure about the blue color (personal preference) but I'm getting used to it. The trackpad is gigantic (like macbook), which I like. I've just done the initial setup and installed updates. It comes with a WD SN560 (middle of the line PCIe V4 SSD). Display is gorgeous (as are all the OLED displays I've seen so far on Lenovo, Asus (2 of them) and HP). There was some initial fan noise when Windows was first starting up but it subsided after about a minute.
Seems to be metal build top and bottom. Have not opened it yet. Speakers are loud and tinny. There might be a way to adjust tone through My Asus, but I haven't registered yet which you need to do.
Getting read to run PCMark10 to see how it fares, then run a YT 4K video test to check battery life.
$750 is a killer deal for all it is. Wish it had 32GB but 16GB is fine.
is the intel arc on this comparable to the 780m.. aka medium gaming duty
ARC graphics has made quite a bit of progress because of the many recent optimizations to the MSI Claw to help compete against the steam deck, ROG Ally, Legion Go, etc. 780M is still more efficient overall especially at lower wattages and has better drivers for older games but looks like ARC is pretty solid now

Agreed. I am somewhat okay with 16:9 if there is.no chin. My Gram 15 has no chin, and it has been great for watching videos. I just can't buy a laptop that has a 16:9 display and a giant chin at the bottom. Reminds me too much of laptops of the past.

The new snapdragon powered vivobook s 15 coming out next month cuts the chassis height and gets rid of the chin. Hopefully a good sale pops up for that model by end of year, because the starting price of $1300 is 🤮

It's $899 before. I was able to get one at this price. Love the unit.

It's 16:9 or 16:10?
I believe it's 16:10
