$50 each without a battery is kind of high. It's a good product, but still too expensive

It's $59 just for the regular fan and I believe I bought mine at $49 once during one of our infamous Louisiana hurricane season outages. So with a mister that can be used as a regular fan as well I consider this being worth it. The humidity here in the summer is horrible but it may only fit my needs and I respect your opinion.

Awesome fans and worth it. Two is a must as they have a pretty narrow throw. Maybe 4ft wide at 6-10 ft out depending on wind. So setting up two allow you to move around and still utilize it. They last for hours on a 4ah and use very little water(5gallons 4ish hours). Bonus they don't need water at all to work as just a fan. Only drawback to me is they're bulky.

Have one of the fans and it works well. Fair warning, misting function is only beneficial in dry climates only... I'm in the South East, high humidity is constant here and the mist only gets you/surrounding items dripping wet...
This was my concern. I'm in WI and it can get very humid. Wondering if I'll waste my money trying this. I guess I could always return. Anyone use this in the Midwest?

Tried to use it for a picnic during Labor Day. Everyone is right, it really does put out too much water, even in the lowest setting. Friends just ended up getting soaked. Good idea, but wish the mist was much more fine.

Still, I'm happy with the purchase. Maybe someone was successful in modifying the amount of water dispensed?
This is evaporative cooling. Misting systems are used frequently to make outdoor patios more habitable. As the particles of water evaporate, the air temperatures are significantly reduced. The result is an average 20-degree difference without causing residual moisture. More altitude will help cool the air rather than have the water droplets evaporate on someone's skin. The cooler air has more density so it will settle. Try setting it up at eye level and aim upward at 45degrees : that's angle not temp ;-)

looks like there's a cover for the battery, anyone use this with a ryobi adapter and a dewalt battery? usually that combo is taller than an OEM ryobi battery
I tried with a Ridgid battery and adapter, it fits but the battery cover doesn't shut.

Is that a problem? Considering this, but it would be with ridgid batteries

Anyone use these for camping? Wondering if two are worth it or just overkill
Have had an older generation of the same fan for a few years. It's great for camping or really any outdoor summer activities as long as it's not super windy. Have had to clean out the mister pieces but that's easy to do. Not sure about these ones but mine also has a direct garden hose connector I'll use at home sometimes.

Just made great use of these at the soccer fields this weekend. Highly recommend. As previously mentioned, the misting radius is rather tight.
Thinking about doing the same but I don't think there's a tap close to the fields. Do you bring your own water and how?

Have had these for years. Dogs love them on a hot day. Hard to find practical use for these outside of gardening and around pools. I do agree it does output more water than expected. A standard bucket size of water prob doesn't last for more than an hour or so. Wouldn't put these around people who dont want to be soaked in water.

it looks like the battery is right behind and below, the misters, so im guessing cover there to block water that can flow back or drips / follows down. lithium + water = bad for liability. prob not an issue most of the time, (maybe cover is just for show), but ill continue using my poor man's mister - portable fan and spray bottle.

I have a a bunch of Ryobi tools that I love, but I hate the pressure washer. Its cumbersome as hell. It's a LITTLE bit more convenient but it's still a hassle. This probably isn't that hard to set up but I highly doubt I'd use it that much, and the battery aspect doesn't seem super helpful due to needing a hose.

Edit I'm an idiot, you put water in the bucket. No hose needed. Sign me up..

Can anyone comment on how long these run per Ah? I'm getting some extra batteries for these, and I'm wondering if the 2.0 Ah models will be sufficient for a whole afternoon, or if I should splurge and get the 6.0 Ah 2-pack that's on sale.
I have the non-misting version (PCL811), but the fan motors should be the same. They run for a surprisingly long time. I have not used 2AH batteries on them, but would say they go for maybe two to three hours on high with a 4AH. Maybe longer.

Fill the buckets with milkshakes. Thank me later. Nothing like a strawberry milkshake in the face on a hot summer's day.

Yes, but these are nowhere near the high-end misting systems used at restaurants. Those have very high PSI to create a much finer mist. I have this fan and the droplets are too big for a true evaporative effect.
