The Kai Pro line is a step below Mac, which is probably 2 to 4x the price. That said, it is very good, IMO, and a superb value. Compares well with the highly recommended Victorinox Fibrox and I would recommend this over most mass market American knives. Kai has rounded edges, which is a huge plus for comfort.

A Santoku isn't for chopping bones. There's a Zwilling Cleaver on sale for $30 that is much better suited.

Same here. The fact that they're factory mutilated as cut-outs doesn't increase their appeal much either. I have a low threshold when it comes to pulling the trigger on knives though. I went ahead and got the large chef Pro S from Zwilling mostly just because.
