"Dynamic Steel" - do not know what that is. Made in India - not saying Indian steel is bad - but in this case most likely not using top of the line steel. So likely will not hold its edge well. Just be aware.

Yeah, kind of omission by commission. They tell you what it is because they don't want to tell you what it isn't, which is probably the German 1.4116 knife steel. However, one of the reasons they don't hold their edge as well is because the steel is softer, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. They'll hold up better to rough or commercial handling than the harder steels that could chip or crack. The tradeoff is that you'll have to touch them up more often to maintain sharpness, but they're easy to sharpen due to the softness of the steel. Basically a Kiwi with a hollow edge and a handle that won't give you splinters. This is a good knife for if you use an electric sharpener which can be very unkind to expensive knives.

Dynamic streel sounds like a fancy name for $13 knife, in other words - garbage which means Henkels sold out and cant recommend any longer based on name.

The details say this is Winco brand, which is what I've used with a more basic plastic handle for years and frankly swear by. I got it from a kitchen supply store and was very impressed and when it got more to give to friends to use.

I'm a Fan of HENCKELS, at this price its just too cheap to pass up. Although some people worry the steel isn't the hardest... i prefer soft steel as you can easily sharpen them.

Check out the Henckels Premio line of knives. They're forged and almost as good as the German made knives but easily half the price. $20 -30 range but if you are looking for better quality than these they are a good option. Otherwise, get Victoriknox knives they are very sharp and have good comfort handles.

Although I think this would still be a good knife for most especially on sale.

I second the Victorinox, but you have to be careful with them, too, as they have different "lines" that look identical.

The "real" ones have SWISS MADE at the bottom of the logo/seal stamp on the blade, while the other has QUALITY CONTROLLED. The paring knives probably don't have the seal, but will have SWISS MADE on the handle. I've also seen difference in the handles themselves; some of mine specify Fibrox while others don't (even though the blades are legit).
