I'm with Adam1813. Missed the last $100 deal. I can wait. :0) What I don't know, is if I want the regular, or the mini, and which one works best with a bicycle helmet.

I got these during one of the $100 Best Buy deals, which is definitely the best price.

I have such mixed feelings on these. I know a lot of people feel safer with them near roads, but I've never had any issue hearing cars with normal earbuds at a reasonable volume, even with ANC, and road noise makes whatever I'm listening to completely inaudible with Shokz. I really like being able to just hit pause and hear everything around me or talk to people I might be running with. I used mine for a 50mi trail ultra last week and they were fantastic for that. Audio quality isn't great, but worth the trade-off in my opinion.

I just wish they weren't so unbelievable expensive. $100 is, IMO, overpriced much less $140/$180.

Same. Got some for 100 and now wife wants one. Gotta wait.

Id try the minis on, you'd probably want them. Sitting on the couch in the regular size they get in the way. That's the only thing I don't like about these.

I have both and slightly prefer the mini. My brother in law has to go with the standard though.

Just a note on Shokz customer service - it's great.

I had a pair of Shokz Aeropex (predecessor to the OpenRun) where the rubber covering started to fail (crack and peel away). Shokz sent me a return label for me to return the headphones and then shipped me a brand new replacement pair. No hassle, no arguing, etc.

I use my headphones for (road and trail) running and they are great. Allows you to have very good awareness of the surroundings and still have good quality sounds.

On standard versus mini - my take on it is if you don't have a big bunch of hair that you need to go around then the mini is the better fit. The standard still fits fine, it's just that you end up with a big wide loop around the back of your head.

I second that. Had an issue with the mic on my original OpenRun and they shipped me a new one and let me keep the old one (which still worked fine for listening, it was just the microphone that was broken). About a year later, the ear mold on my replacement cracked so it didn't sit snug on my head. They again fixed it for free although I did have to send the broken one in.

I use them daily for walking the dog, riding my bike to work, etc. I even use them for calls at my desk if I forget my regular headset for work. The only time I have issues is if I'm outside talking or riding my bike and there's a lot of wind; in that situation the other party can't hear me well.

I would suggest taking the regular non-pro version over this, so that it can be used in the shower\rain, which I see as their strongest attribute. Sound quality is still crap, and they are unrepairable with either version, so price bump is not justified for me.

I tried these before. The "bone conduction" is quite jarring at times. It vibrates like crazy and I wasn't a fan. I needed something which allowed me to hear the outside world while cycling and running so I came across the Oladance OWS1 earbuds. They sit over your ears but doesn't cover your ear canal. It does the trick in terms of being able to listen to music while doing outdoor activities and still being able to hear the outside world. If the Shokz openruns don't work for you take a look at the Oladance OWS 1.

Go to shocks website.. They tell you which one to buy based on the size. of your head and how to measure your head.

I tried to get on board with these, and in my opinion, the sound quality is just too bad to justify the price/change from standard ear buds.

If you absolutely insist on going this route- you should save the money and go with a renewed or open box pair of the same unit prior to their "Shokz" rebranding for $65. Also add the one year warranty from Allstate for $10.

Aside from this, if you're just looking for a really good set of earbuds - I would recommend the new Nothing Ear(a) unit for $99.

Lastly, if you want to save even more or just see if these are a good fit for you- try out one of the knock offs on Amazon for $20. The sound quality sucks, but it also sucks on the name brand so you can at least get a decent grasp on whether this is for you or not.

Some of you have had a good experience with their support replacing them when you've had issues. I haven't had the same experience. My battery life diminished quicker than any other wireless headphones I've owned going back to the Motorola wrap arounds I spent a Benjamin on like 14 years ago. There is no battery replacement like on most wireless earbuds but their offer for a swap was really bad. It may have been 15% off a replacement. One of the rubber pieces came off a few months ago and I haven't researched if I can glue it back on or what. I was really lucky to find the rubber piece. They've been churning these out now for like 8 years at least and I don't mind them, but I can't be a repeat customer. Lots of options with the passthrough technology in conventional earbuds improving.

I noticed I was getting very sleepy with these and I realized that bone conduction is one way the vagus nerve is stimulated, so you might find these actually help relax you before bed time.

Uhh, no these have small speakers to help supplement the bone conduction, so these are better than the cheaper versions.
