FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you don't reset device as instructed this may hurt the trade-in value. There is also no way to get your trade-in back if the 3rd party lowballs your trade-in.
I made this mistake with the recent iPad trade-in deal. I missed a reset step, and had messed up something on the trade-in form. In the end, I got $4 for my trade-in and couldn't get my device back…
TLDR; read, and follow instructions.
You probably missed it, but you can indeed get your device back if they lowball your offer.

Not sure if it's worth the upgrade. To each of his own of course, but I am leaning towards no, even with the $200 Mint Mobile Pixel 7 Pro that I got last December.
Or Samsung/Apple can try to make sweet proposition (But I prefer Pixel's)

I had 140$ store credit from getting 3 pixel tablets a few weeks ago, so all together, with my 7pro trade in, I can convince my deal brain that i got 3 pixel tablets, a Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 8a, all for 3 used ipad6's and 85$ bucks
If it is too much trouble for you even try to call and see how it go then you deserve to wait 12 months. Good luck
