FYI - they outsource trade-ins to another company. You get the trade-in box in a separate shipment.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you don't reset device as instructed this may hurt the trade-in value. There is also no way to get your trade-in back if the 3rd party lowballs your trade-in.

I made this mistake with the recent iPad trade-in deal. I missed a reset step, and had messed up something on the trade-in form. In the end, I got $4 for my trade-in and couldn't get my device back…

TLDR; read, and follow instructions.

There is a checkbox that's automatically checked that states "Accept the new value if it changes after inspection (uncheck to get your device back without credit)"

You probably missed it, but you can indeed get your device back if they lowball your offer.

For anyone that qualifies, you can get an extra 10% off through id.me if you work for the govt or other qualifying service sectors. It stacks with this trade in and discount promo.

pixel 7 pro has curved screen, unable to install screen protector.
Do you think google will care about screen scratches?
I mean, you can install a screen protector - I did - but the plastic ones only protect against light scratches and scuffs. Dropped my P7P from all of 2 feet and it landed on the curve where the case doesn't cover (because otherwise it would cover the curve) and shattered it. In more than a decade of smartphone ownership, I've never never broken a screen and certainly never seen damage from such an otherwise insignificant drop.

Sure, it was my fault. And I'm assuming there are glass screen protectors out there that are made to fit the curve. But in the end, a curved screen is a bullshit gimmick with no real-world value (which I say as someone that exclusively uses gesture navigation) and the flat screen of the P8P is much preferred by me.

In case anyone has a P7P with busted screen they want to trade in, Google offered me $250 for mine. P8P isn't worth $500 to me, though. I'll stick it out with my backup Stylus 5G ($40 from Metro, no problem SIM unlocking early) until a truly slick deal comes along.

They gave you the options. Want your device back or let them determine the trade in value if your device is not meet their expectations.
I made mistake not unckeck that option and let them determine the trade in value but mine almost like new and factory reset.
$4 for your trade in is a big scam

I think all the best screen protectors for the P7P are plastic, since it has to follow the curve. I've seen glass screen protectors sold, but I bet they won't fit well and would suck on a curved screen. But yeah, plastic screen protectors aren't as good as glass, don't protect from scratches as well.

Curious how you got the Metro Stylus 5G sim unlock early? Do you call them or something? Is there something specific to ask for in order to get the best chance?

when do you get the store credit, it says 4 weeks after the purchase - is that when you get it?
Thanks for buying a Pixel. You will receive your $50 discount code up to 4 weeks after a successful purchase.

I have a Pixel 6 Pro and I'm eligible for the ID.me discount, so I'm tempted to go for this deal. However, will there be even better deals once the Pixel 9 is released? Or will the trade-in value of my Pixel 6 Pro depreciate once a new generation is out?

I'm hoping once the Pixel 9 is out that the 8 will drop in price to make a trade-in even sweeter, but I'm not sure how much better the trade in deals will get.
I'm in the same boat as you and was trying to figure it out myself. I went back and looked and when the Pixel 8 Pro released last year, the promo was $999 (retail) for the Pixel 8 Pro but you got a free Pixel Watch 2 ($349 value) and the trade-in value for the Pixel 6 Pro was the same ($400). So this is technically not quite as good as the release deal since you are getting $100 less value 7 months later.

That being said, if they had this type of a deal at release for the Pixel 8 Pro, there's a chance they could have something similar for the Pixel 9 release later this year. The trade-in for the Pixel 6 Pro at that point might be less since it will be a year older, but you might be getting a Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel Watch 3. None of this is given however, so if you absolutely need it, I think this is a pretty good deal. I'm still on the fence.

Have you factored in the value of being able to also buy a Pixel 8a for 250 and another 50 in store credit? Seems to me that you could sell the 8a for a good bit more than 250.

I purchased a Pixel 8 Pro and a Pixel 8a. Trading in a Pixel 7 pro. Using ID.me, and factoring in the $134.87 google store credit I receive for being a google one member, my total cost was $238.40.

What an insane deal.

I didn't, that's a good point. I actually have need for a 2nd phone, so that may make sense.

The problem with that deal is you were receiving what might have been the worst smart watch ever made.

I would like to sign up for the 2 month trial of Google One AI Premium to get 10% off Google Store purchases. Can I combine this 10% off with the $50 off superfan code?

Does the 10% off appear immediately after signing up for Google One AI Premium?

Are you sure the trial gets the 10 percent credit? I didn't see that when I looked earlier, but I wasn't paying that much attention.

I'm going to wait for the Pixel 9 Pro which should have even better AI integration.
