FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you don't reset device as instructed this may hurt the trade-in value. There is also no way to get your trade-in back if the 3rd party lowballs your trade-in.
I made this mistake with the recent iPad trade-in deal. I missed a reset step, and had messed up something on the trade-in form. In the end, I got $4 for my trade-in and couldn't get my device back…
TLDR; read, and follow instructions.
You probably missed it, but you can indeed get your device back if they lowball your offer.

Do you think google will care about screen scratches?
Sure, it was my fault. And I'm assuming there are glass screen protectors out there that are made to fit the curve. But in the end, a curved screen is a bullshit gimmick with no real-world value (which I say as someone that exclusively uses gesture navigation) and the flat screen of the P8P is much preferred by me.
In case anyone has a P7P with busted screen they want to trade in, Google offered me $250 for mine. P8P isn't worth $500 to me, though. I'll stick it out with my backup Stylus 5G ($40 from Metro, no problem SIM unlocking early) until a truly slick deal comes along.

I made mistake not unckeck that option and let them determine the trade in value but mine almost like new and factory reset.
$4 for your trade in is a big scam

Curious how you got the Metro Stylus 5G sim unlock early? Do you call them or something? Is there something specific to ask for in order to get the best chance?
Thanks for buying a Pixel. You will receive your $50 discount code up to 4 weeks after a successful purchase.
I'm hoping once the Pixel 9 is out that the 8 will drop in price to make a trade-in even sweeter, but I'm not sure how much better the trade in deals will get.
That being said, if they had this type of a deal at release for the Pixel 8 Pro, there's a chance they could have something similar for the Pixel 9 release later this year. The trade-in for the Pixel 6 Pro at that point might be less since it will be a year older, but you might be getting a Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel Watch 3. None of this is given however, so if you absolutely need it, I think this is a pretty good deal. I'm still on the fence.
